Bill W For the sake of the Bridge Crew, I do hope the root cause of this incident turns out to be some sort of mechanical issue in the propulsion system...otherwise, I do agree with you! I can't fathom (no pun intended!) this being an intentional/deliberate act.
January 20, 20242 yr I don't think I have ever seen any ship berthing at that speed. I'm also surprised by the complete lack of anybody at the rear end keeping watch, although there did seem to be one person outside the bridge observing the action. It sounded like the smaller ship was well crunched. John B
January 22, 20242 yr Moderator The HMS Bangor appears to have a fiberglass hull. A huge hole was made by the stern of the HMS Chiddingfold. I pity the poor soul who was piloting this ship, should the collision not to have been some mechanical failure, as he/she might be in for a Royal Tongue Lashing! Fr.
