Utility to show installed (freeware) airports on a map?

Featured Replies

As my collection of installed freeware airports has grown recently, I've found it's sometimes difficult to see the name and ICAO code of airports the Community folder (or in Addon Linker).

Where as some freeware airports are conveniently called things like:-     ENBR_Bergen

....others are called things like:-  Bobsdesign_v1.16

So I was wondering if anyone knows of a utility that can show the names and locations of installed airports on a map?   I know the Marketplace airports sales page shows a world map with this on, but does such a utility exist that shows your airports that are already installed?

Thanks in advance.

Addon linker has a world map that shows all your installed airports accordingly. Exactly what you're looking for.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Yeah, I always forget about that map, it's very nice map indeed.

Airport Finder is another great option.   It shows weather, airports with GSX Profiles, etc.  Very complete.

Tried this the other day and what I don’t like is it also shows all the Asobo airports. Maybe some people like that, I was hoping for more of a map of just the airports I have added to the sim.

When using Littlenavmap there +is a menu called scenery library.  Under that menu, you can load the data from your scenery library into Littlenavmap.  It then shows all of the scenery you have in your community folder.

Thanks so much guys.     I use both Addon Linker and Little Navmap and didn't know about those features!

Off to have fun.

Hello, just for info, in the options screen there is a checkbox so you can specify that those airports do not show up in the map and the map will show only the 'addons airports' that you added.

You can also maybe use the 'check for duplicate option / ICAO', that should fill a column with the ICAO code of airports so that it's easier to find them even if they are called 'Bobsdesign_v1.16'

oh well all those are little options not really the main core of the AL program, they're for sure not perfect in their implementation 😱 .. but yeah littlenavmap is probably the most incredible free tool available with so many features and a really professional implementation from code to documentation 👍
