I'm giving XP12 a new try... I saw this thread yesterday, but so far from XP12 where I am these days I didn't even bother reading the details... Today I decided to read more carefully and just found out who's the "influencer" behind these very interesting changes to the turbine engines in XP - Murmur !!! Now, for me that means it is surely worth the try !!! I almost never used any of the default aircrafts. For me this is the same as investing in ATC; i still don’t get why this is so important when we have online networks being way more realistic. It is only of interest for supersonic aircraft, in any case. If anything, this new feature would allow greater accuracy throughout the flight envelope, for those who want to modify old aircraft to take advantage of it. If not, they should just fly in 12.0.8 as they already did before. "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".

For me this is the same as investing in ATC; i still don’t get why this is so important when we have online networks being way more realistic. 1) what? I am not aware of a single developer who offers all Garmins (GNS 430/530/3000/5000) fully functional and for free. the default Garmins/avionics in MSFS are the best that there are out there, no payware developer has ever done that before. the workintitle group have a team of highest grade professional developers, have been working on this for years, including real pilots. 2) "they will never reach the level of payware aircrafts." you are joking, except it's not funny. 3) "I almost never used any of the default aircrafts" so that means because you as a single individual don't use it, but practically all current real aircraft have it, there is no need for fully functioning modern GPS that comes as default and that can be used/included by each and every 3rd party aircraft developer? so they don't all have to reinvent the GPS wheel every time from scratch, including all their potential bugs and update hassle that comes with it. go figure. Which iraises teh point, XPLANE ATC will never be full real. As for Laminar aircraft the Citation X is pretty darn good.

As I said I am not specialised with Garmin. That‘s why I asked if you were missing something for example in the AFL Beech 350. Having better avionics is for sure a small advantage for those flying only from time to time and don‘t want to invest too much. But I am not convinced at all of the impact it has on people like me. I saw some real pilots demonstrating the B787 in MSFS with very good avionics as well. But obviously many stuff is still missing. Perhaps Asobo has the capacity to rival companies like PMDG, i don‘t know. But in my opinion hardcore-simmers end-up flying „study-level“ aircrafts anyway because they want the best. Avionics are just one part of an aircraft and there is so much more. Best example is the incredible depth of the CL60 that goes way further than just avionics (being almost perfect by the way). So again, for me, it would be a waste of energy and time if they started to spend a lot in avionics….just for default planes. So the ratio invest vs payback is very low in my opinion. Spending time in the base engine-modelling or wheel-inertia is for me of much greater value. I also don‘t think all sims have to copy what other offers. I am not a big fan of Asobo‘s approach and hope that Laminar won‘t go that way. It already hurts me each time i read how much they do for ATC 😄 Edited November 9, 20232 yr by Franz007 i9 12900k, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM

I am of course commenting such things from my own perspective because if I do it, I like to do it as realistic as possible but can understand that not everyone wants to go online on Vatsim or what else. I am also a bit disappointed to hear that they want to introduce multiplayer (if i got it right?). I tried it 2-3 times and didn‘t find it a pleasant experience with all kids flying into each others, although it could be fun in some situations, if flying together with some „friends“. But isn‘t that already possible by seting up a comon IP-number on a server? For me, the „elephant in the room“ are graphics, where they should spend some time and not being distracted by „gamey“ stuff. And also keep improving the weather-engine. Just my 2 cents. At the same time of course, they cannot please everyone and I am fully aware of that 😊 Edited November 9, 20232 yr by Franz007 i9 12900k, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM
