September 28, 20232 yr SEPTEMBER 28TH, 2023 DEVELOPMENT UPDATE Posted by: Microsoft Flight Simulator Team This week’s Screenshot Challenge winner is Twitter/X user KotetuP! If you’re interested in participating in our weekly Screenshot Challenges, check out the details in the Community section below! We released Sim Update 13, the next major release to Microsoft Flight Simulator, earlier today. This update includes dozens of fixes and improvements to many different facets of the sim. You can read the full release notes here. At the time of this writing, we are aware that some players are experiencing issues downloading and/or installing Sim Update 13. We are following your reports very closely, and our team is currently hard at work to resolve this issue. We will provide an update as soon as we can – please follow the MSFS Support twitter or check out the MSFS forums for the latest information. Yesterday, we hosted our latest Developer Livestream on Twitch. If you weren’t able to watch it live, you can catch up on the latest MSFS news from our panel of Jorg, Seb, Martial and special guests on YouTube here: During the stream, the panel addressed some high-priority questions from the community, including implementing a different set of atmospheric coefficients, a topic that has been a popular point of conversation among sim pilots for the past few weeks. We also revealed some new upcoming content, such as World Update XV: Northern Europe and Greenland! Launching alongside this World Update next month will also be a new Local Legend, Sweden’s Saab B 17. Another highlight of yesterday’s Developer Livestream was the unveiling of the next entry in our Famous Flyers series of aircraft, the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries MU-2 from developer iniBuilds! Last week’s Development Roadmap indicated that this plane was originally planned to be released today. We don’t have an exact release date to share with you at this time, but we’re excited to get this beautiful light turboprop into your hands as soon as we can. Finally, we are temporarily delaying today’s new Marketplace releases until the ongoing issues related to installing Sim Update 13 are resolved. We will update this page with the new and updated Marketplace products once they are available. September 29, 20232 yr OK. Now I am big time confused. With all the reports of issues with SU13 installation, I followed the link to the official forums at FlighSimulator.com. The pinned message at the top speaks to the reports, says they are looking into it, and reports SU13 as version 1.34.16. I am able to start MSFS and when up and running mine reports the version as 1.34.16. Seriously? I encountered a few small updates this morning right after 1500Z. No way did I expect that to be SU13. I was not on the beta. Is v 1.34.16 really post SU13? September 29, 20232 yr I think, I did get the mandatory update early this afternoon and installed it; I am now on 1.34.16.0. I was not in the beta. My installation, both of the sim and the world updates, went quite smoothly but it seems many others are having troubles. Another user reported that when SimBridge is active they were not able to access Content Manager. I just checked and had a SimBridge update to run in the FBW installer - maybe it fixes the conflict with Content Manager. i7-6700k • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 • 32GB DDR4 2666 • EVGA FTW ULTRA RTX3080 12GB
September 29, 20232 yr Even if you can access the Content Manager without SimBridge, all downloads fail. There must be a more complex issue..... Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.
September 29, 20232 yr Content downloads go ok. It's the decompressing that is interminably slow. Never had this before and I'm at a loss to explain why. September 30, 20232 yr I'm having the decompression issue. I have a solid PC and a good internet connection. MSFS stalled last night on LEMD update decompression, and right now, it's stalling on "asobo-aircraft-b787-10-0.1.105.fspackage". My community folder is empty as I run add on linker. Its almost the weekend and I wanted to fly. Hopefully they can figure it out or its more Baldur's Gate 3 or Mortal Kombat 1 for the weekend. September 30, 20232 yr Saturday morning UK time and FINALLY I have managed to complete the update with the content manager stuff taking many hours 😞 I have a barely acceptable internet connection of around 35Mb/S [3.5 MB/S] as I live in the countryside, but getting 1 or 2 Mb/S for much of that time on this update. I did, however, manage to up the speed by using my NordVPN connection, just to establish the start of the download and once downloading at 5 or 6 Mb/S dropping the VPN and was then downloading at 20 - 30 Mb/S. The slow stuff was the Content Manager updates. I am somewhat dreading the future with MSFS 2024 requiring downloading at all times when online in the Sim I will have a lesser experience than currently 😞. There is a little hope that our small village will get full fibre early 2024, so here's hoping. This update was particularly difficult. BR M. Very Best Wishes, Dr T. Maurice Murphy
