May 27, 20224 yr I need some help. My question is about the Cessna 414 version with GNS 530. How is the setting of the climb or descent value done that is using the VS mode?

There is a white, vertical, DWN - UP "Pitch" wheel below the left side of the throttle quadrant near the AP Turn knob and Master switch for setting the VS rate. Al Edited May 27, 20224 yr by ark

As per the real model of this autopilot though - it's not actually using VS. The control wheel adjusts pitch, rather than VS. The difference being that VS is also related to forward airspeed, whereas the (more basic) pitch mode in this aircraft, maintains a static pitch, regardless of airspeed. Also, if you use keyboard binds, it will be the AP PITCH REF INC and DEC that adjust the wheel (rather than VS) - although that one is for the future, as presently, this AP does not support keyboard commands.
