I'm looking for a 1920 x 1080 external monitor for my laptop (which only has HDMI out) that can run at 30 Hz, and that has integrated speakers (desirable). I'm looking for something between 22" and 26". The monitor will be at an arm's length, so I'm not looking for something bigger; just something better than my 15.6" laptop display. I've seen several topics asking for this, but almost all of them drifted into 4K options, which my current GPU can't handle (except maybe in FS9). Also, when I search for the manuals of the options I see in both MercadoLibre (here in Argentina) or in Amazon/Newegg/BestBuy USA, I can't see any option of going to 1920x1080x30Hz; all mention up to 60Hz. Does anybody know of any 22"-26" 1920x1080 monitor that can run at 30 Hz? March 17, 20215 yr Author Looks like necroing, but I've just purchased and tested this one: ViewSonic VX2458-MHD. Confirmed operation at 25, 29 and 30 Hz. Also offered 23 and 24 Hz modes, but I didn't try them. Now, with my laptop (specs in signature), I can't seem to drive it to 144 Hz, just 120 Hz. Need to investigate why does this happen and how can I fix it. Theoretically, there should be nothing that prevents my GPUs (both the Intel integrated one and the dedicated Nvidia) from doing so. Optimus does not help at all. Guess I need to buy a new rig... March 23, 20215 yr Moderator Luis, have you installed the drivers for your monitor? Does it show up correctly in Device Manager - Monitors? If it's listed as Generic PHP monitor that could be the problem. Ray (Cheshire, England). March 29, 20215 yr Author Hi Ray, I didn't see your post before, my bad. That was the first thing I did: installing its drivers. After doing so (i.e., I see the correct name in Device Manager>Monitors), the only thing left were my GPUs (both Intel and Nvidia). however, ASUS gave me the bad news via 2 support tickets I opened some days ago: my laptop doesn't support 144 Hz. In my office we're expecting to work from home anytime in the next 30 days. If so, I can bring my work desktop home (it has an Nvidia Quadro P1000), and check in my monitor. I hope this GPU supports this refresh rate...
