More New York ferries for MSFS.... it seems to work perfectly departing on schedule - not real schedule but AI schedule...

Waldo, thats awesome. So we will be able to use these ships to sail around the oceans? MSFS is becoming so versatile. Not only can we fly planes but soon we will be able to explore the world by ocean!

I have already driven one of his container ships through the Panama Canal. Getting through some of the locks required a little slewing (I can already hear the howls of outrage that MSFS doesn't have functional canal locks!) but it was awesome to be able to do this. The scenery from ground level looked great, and the presence of AI ships added to the realism. (I have also made this trip in real life, as a passenger).

Could you explain how to do this? How do I select a ship to use and control it?

Henrik that looks awesome! Man the waterways are coming to life now! Soon, flying over waters won't be so dull and boring and lifeless!

The conversion process is getting a bit faster... 10 container ships converted today

Traversing the Panama Canal as I described earlier was fun, but patrolling places like the fjords of Norway and New Zealand, or any of the Alpine lakes, in these ships is spectacular and highly recommended. So is cruising up the Thames past the houses of Parliament, or the Seine in Paris, or New York harbor, or Rio, etc. etc. I may never get back in a plane (kidding, of course)!

With the Controllable ships mod, is it possible to sail the seas together online with your friends?

I'm really enjoying this mod. Thanks to Henrik for these models. Looks good, but I really wish the wake effects could be added on this Controllable ship mod.

A small status as the holiday is reaching its end. The first Native extension of Global AI Ship Traffic will be due by the end of next weekend. It will include more than 50 different ships between completely new ships e.g. New York ferries and sister ships to ships already included in the Global AI Ship Traffic carry over.

Besides what I communicated already as new ships to be included - the following are some of the carry overs that have now been created in native format:

  • CMA CGM Vasco da Gama and sisters
  • Maersk Triple E class
  • Maersk E-Class
  • CSCL Asia and 4 sisters
  • SSW 1000 class feeder ships e.g. Unifeeder
  • Hyundai 333 m container ships for Hamburg Süd
  • Hyundai 366 m container ships for Maersk, Cosco and Hapag Lloyd
  • DFDS ro/ro Ephesus and sisters
  • Diamond 53 class bulk carriers

Two volunteers have entered for converting textures to PBR, so while I will start my day time job again after holidays tomorrow progress is still assured.
