SCREEN SHOT

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me if there is a key to make a screen shot in a jpg format in MSFS like we could do in P3D just by pressing the V key?

Thanks

Hello, I use FN + INSERT (there is a Camera icon in my keyboard), it saves the screenshot under "MY PC / PICTURES / SCREENSHOTS"

Hope this helps

For Windows 10, [Win] + [Print (Screen)] keys should also work. The path is the same as stated above. I have not tried it yet in MSFS but I used it a lot in P3D.

If you have the Steam version you can use the Steam shortcut F12.

Win + Print Screen has the disadvantage you need both hands (at least I need them) and let the yoke go.

Kind regards, Michael

Print Screen on its own works for me, too.

Thanks for the replies. Windows key+ PrtScr works, but like you said, that takes two hands. Have not tried just using the PrtScr key by itself. I will try that.

They are saved in that stupid png format instead of a jpg. Can someone tell me how to change the default save to a jpg in Windows 10?

Thanks

Check out a gem of a free little program called Lightscreen.

https://lightscreen.com.ar/

Not only can you choose which format to save (.png, .jpg, .bmp), and to which folder, it also saves files numbered consecutively after pressing a screenshot key that you set as your choice.  There are lots of other set up options.

E.g. I use the standard printscreen key, and it saves screenshots to an 'MSFS Screenshots' folder as 'screenshot.1.jpg', 'screenshot.2 jpg' etc.  I think it's great!  I have been taking about shots 50 per flight LOL! 😄

Mixed with the community mods to stop the icon handlebar popping up at the top of the screen every time you move the mouse, and the one to toggle the instruments on and off in the outside view, this is great for getting those quick screenshots without having to go to the drone camera!  👍

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I use a small program called "Bulk Image Converter v2.0.1.0 by slade73". Just Google it.

It does a great job converting file formats.

It allows you to convert a large number of screenshots with the option to keep or delete the originals.

I've been using it for years. 🙂

If you take a screenshot, unlike in FSX where it just generated a file, you will need a program you can use to paste it.

Would greatly appreciate links to those 2 mods.
