Cyberpunk is set to be a phenomenal RPG by a studio that is revered among the gaming community. They’ve had cyberpunk tabled since the first Witcher game I believe. I’ve been waiting on it for longer than I can remember. I love cdprojectred, they tell stories and build worlds like no other studio can and they do it without Nickel and diming their customers. It is too early to call goty. MSFS is definitely well positioned but we will have to wait and see. It’s going to have tough competition.

August 17, 20205 yr The reviews are great! And the ones I've seen so far from the bigger review-houses have obviously put someone knowledgeable about flightsim to do the reviewing. They seem to take the good with the bad and still give it a near perfect score! Impressive! They also seem to be aware that this title will draw the attention of a lot of people that have never done any simming before, and that is awesome that they are conscient about talking to both hard core simmers and strangers to simming alike. August 17, 20205 yr Generally extremely well received in the reviews. Some re-occurring points that I whole-heartedly agree with: FPS issues over NYC and Toronto, despite using low settings Lack of detailed ground school / instructor guidance for beginners More challenges need to be developed for the 'gamer crowd' It augers well, but these 3 issues could kill casual users' enthusiasm very quickly. I thought the point about FPS over NYC/Toronto in the PC Gamer review odd. The reviewer says these locations are absolutely unplayable, even crashing, on the lowest possible graphics settings, using a RTX 2080. But I'm sure one of the alpha/beta testers with a GTX 1070 mentioned a drop in FPS over NYC on high settings, but to about 25-30 FPS and certainly still playable. And I'm sure they were playing at 4K on high settings in NYC, even though the GTX 1070 isn't even designed for 4K output (so could have got better performance at a lower resolution). Certainly no mention of it becoming unplayable or crashing. It's weird how an experience using a superior GPU could be so much worse on supposedly the lowest graphics settings.

Well - I do not think that the first one is possible to do any dramatic changes to. It is frankly amazing that we do not get single digit FPS will the detail level in NY. This is next gen stuff and in a year or two I guess it will run just fine there as it seems to scale well with more powerful CPU/GPU combos. But optimizations are sure to come. Regarding the instructional missions, It really would be nice to have more than the 8 (?) we have seen in the previews. A bit strange that they have not done more considering the immense effort to develop the core engine that is mind blowing. And I was pretty sure that the challenges we saw in the preview where just a teaser with some landing challenges and bush trips. I am sure that more will arrive but a nice career mode where you for example get your own hangar in Alaska / South Africa and an old battered Cub. All inherited from you old uncle in a cut-scene played by Sean Connery or similar. And then you go to a job posting board on the small airport where missions and their rewards are posted. You fly tourists to see the elephants, fly medicine to villages, food and supplies to distant camps. As you earn money you can repaint your plane/hangar and maybe buy a new one with room for two aircraft as some missions with passengers get better pay with a fancy plane with cup holders. And for your cargo carrying you naturally need a workhorse (a DC-3 would be nice for that)... Suddenly there is a storm and Sean Connery crashes in a far away jungle / wasteland and you have to search for him. A doctor arrives in his Range Rover for an emergency with a climber that got injured on a distant mountain. I think that the "gamers" really could "play" something like this - and I would as well if it was not a cheesy dialogue etc. But with the success we seem to whitness I am sure that more challenges will come down the road... I found the 8 introductory flights quite well-done but did expect a bit more in this field, even more as MSFS is geared towards the newcomer. August 17, 20205 yr Well the lessons cover most basic things to get flying, and you can do them over and over. So if you fail at takeoff, then do that lesson again a few times - same with landings. You dont need more landing lessons, you just need to do the same one again if the problem isnt lack of info in the lesson but the retention of the student. That combined with the assistance options and checklist assists should be enough to get most people into the air. For the more advanced stuff there is a ton of info to dig into. Yeah cyberpunk should be an absolutely fantastic game, that if it’s anything like as good as Witcher 3 will fully deserve goty awards. It’s amazing that a flight sim is even in the same conversation though really.
