3PD & MSFS handcrafted airports

Agree with you but to a degree I can understand the likes of Boeing/Airbus etc wanting their aircraft to look immaculate so I’d expect to wait for paint jobs for that but buildings, there’s no reason for it which is a shame as the modelling is really nice just the overall look is spoilt.

Well, they said multiple times that they are listening to the community. I'm confident that it's true. I expect to see a lot of patches in the future. Let alone 3PDs 🙂

In germany there is a saying: "Die Kirche im Dorf lassen (EN: Leave the church in town)". This means not to uselessly overreact on things.

Now the Q: Aren't you guys overreacting here a bit? I mean what do you guys pay for FSX / FSX SE / P3D license? Have you seen how stock airports look like in P3Dv5? Most of them no longer have ONE single building. Even v4 and v3...were better what that matters. Many stock airports dont even have all the footprint (footprint meaning all the taxiways, etc.)

No with MSFS you get in the cheapest version 20 handcraftet airports. Just look at those buildings! They are no longer just rectangular or have a 2D flat painted texture on them! You have materials, you have lightig poles, you must have dyn lighting. The sim is not even out in the wild and already there are voices: those airports are not a big deal, why are the textures not showing any wear?,....

What do you guys expect to get for 60bucks? 20 "hard core" airports in payware ORBX quality (or whatever vendor) where they cost 30bucks each?

Are you forgetting that there are actually Addons for P3D that ONLY enhance the 2D flat textures (e.g. WWA HD from REX) costing 25 bucks? Or enhanced non airport texture buildings for again the same price?

Why don't you just diregard all those airports and concentrate on the sim? People payed for FSX + FSX SE + P3DvX...v5 how much so far to get which part to look like MSFS?

I realy can't understand you guys. If they would have asked 60 for the sim + 10 for every airport (which is way less then 3rd party airports out there) [200] + how much for land class textures? 60? 100? 200? + a weather engine + etc....then I would have an understanding that you are demanding a lot if you pay 1000 bucks for it...but you don't!

So let's get these guys a break and revelate on what we pay and what we get (or think we get).

PS: I'm sorry but reading such posts realy get's me mad. Somebody sells you a new car for a basic price but packs in (as a gift) a nav system, sound system, some advanced assistance system, winter tyres etc....and you guys start to comment on which brand the tires are or why the nav database is not exactly up to date??? C'mon....

I agree so much!

Did you consider it an immersion killer that if you flew into an airport in FSX and it wasn't 1000% accurate?  If there are 40,000 fields in the program, how many will you be familiar with, maybe half a dozen?  So the rest can be perfect or completely off and you'll never know.  Think of older versions of the program (even with FSX) where some airports consisted of a single runway in the middle of nowhere.

Is what it is. They are better than anything offered in a default simulator before. If you require more, 3PDs will get there.

Everything needs to be kept in perspective or you are going to end up frustrating yourself.

Remember the first time you saw the original Star Wars movie and everything was *dirty*?  I don't remember seeing that in previous movies.  Except maybe apocalyptic ones. 🙂

A little wear and tear and dirt goes a long way to making a cockpit look lived in and real, but I understand why they didn't do it for the first pass.

Look at the A2A Cherokee... is that dust on the glareshield?? 😄

I guess not everyone is happy to see the new flight simulator. 😄

I (while a payware dev for X-Plane) think the new Microsoft simulator looks a lot better than X-Plane 11 or anything else out there. I am sure it is far advanced in most other fields as well, seriously!

But the way people here obsess over details will have me sitting with a huge bowl of popcorn on the 20th or 21st of August (after the initial excitement wears off) when people start discovering that the new simulator does not live up to their expectations. These expectations can not POSSIBLY be met, even if Asobo really DOES have data on every fish that swims in the ocean...

I think a lot of people will really suffer postnatal depression on this one. You think this will be the perfect one. Only to discover that there is no perfection.

We have another saying in German that goes like "Looking forward to something is the best part of it"...

Cheers, Jan

I think I'll develop a DLC for the new sim that will allow the user to spray paint "dirt, grease, or grunge" on everything.in sight. They will be able to adjust the spray nozzle to control the degree of application as desired!

Of course I'll have to come up with a snappy and clever name for it first... 😏

How about: "Goo Maker" or "Neglect It", You could even add a Pro version!

There’s also a saying ‘Stop living in the past’ god forbid we critique the new simulator and make suggestions to improve immersion. An the comparisons with FSX I mean really are we still here comparing to a sim that’s 14 years old it’s a bit ridiculous tbh. They’ve done an amazing job on the handcrafted airports no doubt but I’m talking about easy minor improvements that make a difference or should we just all shut up an be happy that it’s better than FSX and P3D and end it there

If there was no real world AI traffic In the sim and a guy on here said hey wouldn’t it be great if they included real world AI traffic how amazing that would be for immersion would you say what do you want for 60 bucks?? When those suggestions could be real possible features added. Try and understand the difference between a suggestion and being disrespectful and over critical.

if posts on an Internet forum are getting you mad then you need to go for a walk an reevaluate your life a little mate.

They don’t need a break they need feedback I made suggestion on what would improve the look of the airports, would it not? If we all said it looks great here my money we’d have nothing to say til release.
