Let it snow! Official snow season in MSFS

Featured Replies

Wow sweet! What a surprise sneak peek to start the new year.   I'm thinking the snow variation comes from the weather engine itself and not just textures based on all the things they are doing with airflow over terrain, pressure, humidity and likely precip intensity. Alpha  testers must be enjoying those things, despite the main mission to find and deal with bugs and issues.

This is amazing!

I wonder what the snow falling in the sim will look like and if snow will accumulate on the aircraft and aircraft windows.

Lovely ! Look at the lighting in the last sequence (from the .52 mark) ! A least snow which shines like snow. That should quell any doubt that Asobo listens to our wishes  !

EDIT funny in another thread, I wrote today

Doesn't cost anything for us to politely ask, right ? And a good PR campaign is always listening to the public "pressure".

I am glad to see they went the same way xEnviro did (and probably with a better quality), this can only contribute to MSFS being a "next gen" product.

Its becoming more and more evident with every video that P3D and X-plane are officially finished.

Truer words were never spoken. The Asobo team are amazing! What a wonderful New Year surprise!

Seems they can do everything..

Agreed. Only thing, I hope they won't forget to release the sim in their quest for perfection 😂 !

It just better and better, but one thing I do not like(I had to find one thing)

The river seems to flow in the wrong direction because the way they have implemented waves on rivers the same way as they have done for oceans.

This is the implementation methods used both in FSX and P3D.zLq8pcI.png

Hope they come up with some other method and change that before release.

The waves on rivers have always looked very unreal IMHO.

I cannot but wonder if this really does spell the end of the competition. This all looks far too good to be true. I do believe my eye's but I have to wonder whats the catch?

What the... How...

If they started working on this after the feedback from the Global Preview event, then that makes this achievement even more impressive.

I would even buy the music. Incredible.

Unreal!  MS sure is making some posters who told us that we couldn't trust them look silly; I guess one bad release (Flight) eliminated almost 3 decades of outstanding products?

I was waiting to see if seasons were going to be included; to me, this is a big deal...it's the reason I never fully committed to Xplane.  With this information, I'm ready to clean my hard drive of my two existing sims and focus solely on this platform.  Using this sim than trying to go back to P3D/Xplane may be like flying the PMDG 737NGXu/Zibo mod, then trying to return to FSX default 737...I think the differences will be massive....
