DLL.XML

Hi

I really need som god advice from someone who knows more about FSX-SE than I do

I purchased the Mirage 2000C from Metal2Mesh. The plane is working perfect and it looks beautiful. Tackpac is working ok, I can drop bombs, fire rockets and shoot down drones.
INS is working nice and it flies as expected. There is only one problem:

When I installed the Mirage, the installer said: unable to locate DII.XML

This means that I cannot load fuel in droptanks, the tanks are visible and the yellow light comes on, showing that the drop tank is present, but detot stayes on 3210 kg fuel which is exactly the amount of internal fuel when they are filled up

GPU is not showing, but GPU power comes on when I pull the brake handle and flip a switch, just as expected

My DLL.XML  file is located here:
C:\Users\ole damgaard\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\

M2MDM2KC.dll is located here:
E:\microsoft flight simulator X steam edition\steamapps\common\FSX\Metal2Mesh\Mirage 2000C\

Flight SIM  is located here:
E:\microsoft flight simulator X steam edition\

I have tried to edit the DII.XML file with this, found in a post on Metal2Mesh Forum

<Launch.Addon>

<Name>M2M Mirage 2000C System Manager</Name>

<Disabled>False</Disabled>

<Path>Metal2Mesh\Mirage 2000C\M2MDM2KC.dll</Path>

<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>

<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>

</Launch.Addon>

But it does not solve my problem, And come to think of it, if the installer cannot find my DLL.XML, then perhaps, the Mirage andd-on exe file cannot find it either.

I use W10

According to the specs for this Mirage aircraft, it doesn't mention FSX-Steam as a Sim choice.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 CPU (Core 2 Quad recommended)

4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended)

Direct X 9 compatible Graphics Card with minimal 1 Gb (2 Gb recommended)

Microsoft FSX (Gold or Acceleration) or Lockheed Martin Prepar3D

Windows VISTA, Windows 7, Windows 8 (fully updated), 64 bit versions recommended.

Awaiting the new Microsoft Flight Sim and the purchase of a new system.  Running a Chromebook for now!

Sadly Ole, though in most cases it doesn't matter, there are some products where if it is not specifically stated as Steam compatible it doesn't work, or doesn't work properly. Most developers have released updates but not all. I hope you can find a solution

Hi

the installer clearly states that one can choose steam so i assume that the Mirage is compatibel with FSX-Steam

ole

Make sure you are running the installer from the right click menu item "run as administrator" and see if that helps.

Hi Ole,

Two thoughts,

  1. Did you check the DLL.XML is formatted correctly?

It can get screwed up. IS this the only entry you have in this file?

If you are sure it's correct for the Mirage, place it at the top of the XML file as the first add on. If you have other entries below it, you can determine if it is being read via enablement of other add-ons.

You can also look here for more info & t/shooting: https://support.precisionmanuals.com/kb/a92/dll_xml-information-and-troubleshooting.aspx

2. Assuming your DLL.XML is correct, I would then suspect the registry where potential it has a wrong pointer to where FSX SE is installed. This can occur occasionally when installed new add-ons.

There is a registry fix tool from Flight 1 but I am not 100% sure if it fixes FSX:SE registry keys. Worth investigating though.

You don't mention if your set up was only/ever FSX.SE. If it had both FSX (boxed version) installed at one time this could also contribute.

Hope this helps

Regards

Mark
