I guess some were right about the 182RG...

I didn't fly the Pitts S2B for a couple of years, for nothing! :) For the record, as a general rule, real Cessna's bore me. Like I said, landing this model is truely a non-event!L.Adamson

seems to me claiming your a crummy pilot isn't really any worse than you claiming others are "just accepting a crummy FM." There could be other things at play here, such as some specific controller issues cuasing some of these problems. I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong here, I'm just saying that nobody is really in a position to tell anyone else how the plane is flying on their system. You guys are both pilots with a lot of rw experience and I personally wouldn't presume to acuse either of you of being wrong or not knowing what you are talking about. I'd suggest those of you with problems wait and see what the patch does, and those without problems continue enjoying this lovely plane...

Well, I think I figured out a way to get to the bottom of this debate, this morning on the way to work.I emailed Carenado and basically listed what I am seeing when I fly an approach. I also told them in the same email, that it seems that some of us are not seeing this flight behavior and are not having any problem whatsoever with the flight model. I asked them to please send me an email telling me what is actually being done to improve the flight model, will it effect the problems that I am seeing , and when will this patch be released. As soon as I get a reply, I will post what I am told on this thread. I will also post in a couple of days, if they do not get back to me with any answers.

Like>I said, landing this model is truely a non-event!>>L.AdamsonIf you are such a good pilot, how come you are such a jerk as a person? I check the other forum you mentioned, and found that you have been doing a "copy and paste" of parts of my posts on this forum, adding them over there without my knowledge, after you edited them of course, and then adding your " expert opinions" of how what I stated here was wrong and you are so right. I have been involved in sim forums for many years, and sorry, but I don't ever remember anyone pulling a dumb stunt like that. I am also finished arguing with you, because I don't argue with people I don't have any respect for. Ciao

I have no doubt that some are having strange problems with the 182. I also have no doubt that it's working properly for some, and for me it flies great. As shown in the attached screenshots, I had no trouble lining up for a stabilized approach with full flaps on final. Nothing is changed from the original download... the airfile and config files are just as they shipped. All realism sliders are full right.As Larry and others have said, landing this airplane is a "non-event". As the last screenshot shows, there was plenty of runway left after touchdown, so no need to stomp on the brakes.Best,Ken

lift_scalar=0.5drag_scalar=1.2make those changes and try'er out.

Bob, I do not doubt your experience in RW Cessnas, but in this case one of the most popular airplanes in my ex flying clubs hangar was the Skylane RG. My experience in it includes not only pattern work, but instrument time real and simulated. I have done GPS, ILS and NDB approaches. One of my Wings awards was earned getting checked out in the C182RG. As you know, this would include and hour of pattern work doing bumps and grinds in the pattern trying to figure out the smoothest way to land the bird, so I do know what to expect and how to fly the plane. I have no idea how a Beech Bonanza or twin Cessna flys, but this one I do. The only time I had trouble getting this sim down on the ground is when I tried to bleed off too much altitude on final. You may have flown the aircraft at the correct pattern altitude, but what about others? I have seen others try to fly prop planes like jets and it doesn't work! For some reason some people are not having trouble and some are. This much is obvious. Rather than play the " I am right so YOU must be wrong game" I was trying to find out why things behaved as they do. Remember that a good pilot is always learning. So let's LEARN.

Carenado have said they are fixing it soon, so why keep on and on about it with fixes, and leave it to them.AnthonyUK

>lift_scalar=0.5>drag_scalar=1.2>>make those changes and try'er out.Thanks , will try it out and let you know how it works :)

"but then again, I bet most are not doing chandelles...."I hope that has nothing to do with your selling the Old Debonair :)-John

>lift_scalar=0.5>drag_scalar=1.2>>make those changes and try'er out.That did it. Problem solved. It flys lke a 182 now. Thanks :)

Bob,Notice that I gave you the benefit of the doubt. Possible two different CFG's, and I didn't claim you might "not" be a pilot with experience in the 182's. This is an exact copy of what I wrote:"Since the original poster, posted the same subject at forum A####, this is another responce from someone who say's he has quite a bit of Cessna time. My other quote, farther up the list, is from the same. If so, then we really do have different CFG files, as mine does not float at all.For the record, what you write on a public forum, is for what it's worth, "very public". It's not as though I published a private E-mail, because I never do. What I did, is done quite often, or at least you'll even see links back to the original post, whether this forum or that forum. But from the standpoint of a "jerk", think of the following,Here we have a developer, who sells a payware product, and then "someone" comes along claiming hundreds of Cessna hours, making outlandish claims, and LOL references to their beta team. The same claims are re-printed day after day, while testing by others, do NOT yeild the same results. In fact, replies by others are simply ignored, or statements written, that they must be wrong.And then to top it off, this same "person" makes an anouncment that this plane is going back into the hangar until fixed, while still ignoring other's test's, which still have the opposite results.Now Bob, I don't know about you, but I think the person I just described, could have at least as many "jerk" qualities, as you claim I have! What do you think?L.Adamson

I still think you are a jerk. I found another thread on another site where you did the same thing as you did on this one. A few people complained about the way a particular aircraft was flying, and you started with your " It's perfect, I have no problem, and you must not know what your doing BS" Anyway, no thanks to all your chaff, Travis made a suggestion regarding a mod to the CFG file, I made it, and now it flys and lands like a real plane .. :) Ciao

A few people complained about the way a particular>aircraft was flying, and you started with your " It's perfect,>I have no problem, and you must not know what your doing BS" Great, please print a reference to the particular post, as there are so many, I just don't remember....In all honesty though, I'm usually correct, 9 1/2 out of 10 times, if not better. ( L.AdamsonP.S. ----- it's not "nice" to call people "jerks", on a forum such as this one. The administrators/forum owners, frown on such behavior...}

It does take two to tango--I suggest one or both sides call a truce so I don't have to slice and dice the thread. However, you are quite correct (upping your score to 9 3/4 out of 10 times) that we frown on calling people names--that should be done on one's own time, and not on forum time.-John
