Just forget it, nothing will come out of it for us. Just forget it, its not intended as such.No whole world in DLC, just some islands, disconnected from other parts of the world. Its was a carefully mastered pr, lots of simmers went crazy on the little news what was carefully feed in bits.We read all to much in it, but I was sceptic in the beginning, as a lot of others who are rights as it seems now.The complete lack of corresponding with us from MS, here and in the beta forum is insulting.Aren't they proud on what they made? In other parts of the gaming industry dev's talk with their users. The MS suits are completly disconnected, as usual in big corporations, and Flight is heading for a go around, then another one and will fall from the sky due to lack of fuel. Some of us cant see it, and are remarkably positive, but the wish is the father of the tought, or something similar. But there is nothing lost, FS9 is still strong, FSX will be in a year or two when fast PC's are mainstream, we are the new Train Sim bunch here. Nothing wrong with that, it might look outdated eventually, but still works well.XPlane ? still a (too) long way to go. Saw the screenshots, but it will have to be much better to get FS9/X folks over en-masse.Just my toughts..I like to add, the benefit of using old platform, the new and newer PC's will allow us put in more and more demanding planes and stuff very day, and still have fluid performance, a bright future ahead captains, clear skies ahead!

I'm sure Microsoft did a fine job in modeling the Icon, which in itself is designed to be a very easy aircraft to fly. But honestly, most people who are interested in flight simulation want something more sophisticated, and a cockpit-less P51 is not going to cut it. They should have had a Cessna Skyhawk as one of the default aircraft that comes with Flight. That would have at least appealed to a greater audience. That would have at least allowed for radio navigation and maybe even instrument flying. It's really a shame that MS has stripped so much from the basic "Flight" experience. I won't touch this thing with a 10-foot pole. It is NOT the experience I want. You know... it's sad when FS98 is actually a better sim because you can actually do all the things you want to do that you can't do in Flight. Then again, there are no gold coins in FS98. lol...

Both the Maule and the RV-6 will allow "for radio navigation and ... even instrument flying"

I'm going to go out on a limb here and posit that most (say 98%?) of the Flight lovers do not have much, if any, real world flying experience. And, no, being a passenger does not count. Cute thought though. I may have a seizure if someone with a pilot's license posts here and says that they like Flight. If they have an ATP certificate or even just a CPL, I'll probably keel over.

Then it's probably a blessing that you weren't in the beta, as you'd have been dead for a few weeks already. Seriously!

Well, that is amazing. And these people actually like the direction the program took?
Both FSX and Flight can use the mouse as the controller and the mousewheel for throttles but in FSX it is terrible. In Flight it feels like a well calibrated joystick.................ie. Usable.

On the whole no. What they did like however was the vastly improved FDE performance. Like nearly everyone else though, the geographic limits are a major negative.

Hey Martin,The Icon is the aircraft that I often pick if I mostly want to explore the scenery. It can fly pretty slow (45 to 100+ mph), has great visibility, has a basic GPS/Moving Map, is fun and easy to fly, and is the only Amphibious aircraft so far.But you are severely limited in what missions, challenges, and jobs you will be able to do if you only have the Icon...
Hi Arwen,Thanks for your detailed reply and your suggestion. To be honest I'm not really interested in the missions, challenges and jobs in MS Flight and I don't mind flying slow at times when exploring scenery so the Icon will do for now whilst I decide whether it's worth investing money in it or not. Thanks, Martin

Like Fr. Bill said, no.

Blake

Arwen did..
Uh. Look at Arwen's post from yesterday at 1:01pm. She has never flown an aircraft before.

Oh, I was under the impression she was.
