Nvidia appears to be ignoring 7800GT/GTX simmers...

Featured Replies

I have tried the last two previous driver releases, both with the same results. In both instances reverting back to version 78.01 got rid of the problem.Attached is a pic of the texture corruption I am experiencing. (hopefully)

Got the exact same texture corruptions with a Gainward 7800GT. All the 81.xx drivers are crap, the 77.77 from the CD works, but with the same, corrupted menus as Ryan`s.Hope Nvidia will improve on their testing routines. But I have also seen texture corruption in FS9 all the time (with ATI as well)...these blinking lines along the screen borders which a screenshot never shows, so I think MS have missed something as well as Nvidia...

I have the 7800GTX-512 and you cannot use any older drivers other than the 80' series. I guess I'm screwed for now. I did see a post that said they were not getting the coruption by not setting AA and Ansio in the control panel. I guess if you buy a high end card you expect to be to tweak your image quality though.

I have a 7800 GT and have never experienced those problems. You might make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your motherboard chipset as well as your video card. Also, make sure you have a good installation of DirectX 9.0c. Sounds like you have something corrupting you video. Good luck.

I installed my new 7800GT yesterday, intalled the drivers that came with it (81.94) and I'm already seeing problemshttp://www.bjones4.dsl.pipex.com/SNAG-0035.jpg...never seen Seattle quite so patchy...Same things happen to the aircraft aswell, wrong texture squares on the wrong parts similar to the VC shot above.Disabling everything in the control panel, i.e. no AA or AF stop it, but as said above, I didn't pay this amount for a top end card that I can only use properly with settings turned DOWN or even OFF.

Hi all.It seems until microsoft & Nvidia get there heads together there will be lots of pc pilots grounded and playing other games, until FS2006 comes out.I tried yesterday with the new driver 81.95 my MOBO a8n sli Premum Bios 1009-004 Chipset drivers WinXP 32_V665 My cards set to single on the AI selector. And it is no go with the Texture problems. The best texture result I had was with the 77.77 but got other problems in the cockpit with the instruments. My problems started in February this year and wasted 8 months trying to fly FS9 in sli. Then I got this PC and wasted another month trying to fly FS9 with this one.Untill they sort it out I have just bought Call of Duty 2 I have no trouble with this game.Best of Luck to you allRexAsus a8n sli premum / AMD 64 X 2-4800 / 2 x XFX 7800 GTs / 2Gb cosair 3200 TwinX / WD Rapters / 650W akasa psu.

Boy, this is quite interesting. I was actually looking at purchasing one of these cards for my next upgrade, but I think I will hold off.NOT good whatsoever. :-eek

I'd like to see a dxdiag report from one of these machines (that's experiencing these anomallies).Anyone care to post one?To do it, just go herehttp://www.oatmedia.com/dds_dxdiag.aspand follow the directions.Open the saved .txt file, hit edit/select all , right-click on the highlighted text, select copy, reply to this thread,right-click and paste inside the reply box that just opened.

Theres a bit too much to paste so see the attached file

At work now, but will do when I get home. I have similar setup as Ben. X2-4800,same MB,7800GTX-512 video card and same sound card. Thanks,Ted

Not sure what you mean?? I have two 7800GTX 512MB running in SLI mode and don't have any issues with texture corruption?? The only way to make use of SLI in FS2004 is for AA (anti-aliasing). But in either case one 7800GTX 512MB or two -- both work very well, especially at 1920 x 1200 -- I've maxed out every detail option possible and still never drop below 30 fps (even with Add-on scenery, and Aircraft).I've had to toss a LOT of hardware at FS9.1 to make it work this smooth at these levels of detail & resolution, but it was worth it to me. I enjoy FS9.1 because I can spend the time to enjoy the surroundings, in a real 172 I'm always too busy doing something and rarely take the time to enjoy the view.Rob.

Ben,Your 7800 drvrs look pretty good...only problem I see, is that you have two sound drivers running. One for the Creative, and another for (I'm assuming) onboard sound. This can lead to all sorts of problems. Is the onboard sound enabled in the bios?It needs to be disabled, and the onboard sound drivers removed.First,Download the latest drivers available for you video card, motherboard chipset drivers, and creative sound card. Then,go into the bios and make sure that the onboard sound is set to disabled, then go into windows in safemode (F8).Once in, start/control panel/add remove programs...remove all of the sound (both cards)and video drivers.Shut downunplug/power down your internet connection.reboot normally with no internet connection. You'll get a pop-up panel telling you that your video drivers are missing. Hit Cancel.Run you motherboard chipset drivers, let it overwrite everything you need except for the onboard sound drivers.Re-boot. (still without internet)You'll get a pop-up panel telling you that your video drivers are missing. Hit Cancel.Install your video drivers.Re-boot. (still without internet)Install drivers for your PCI Sound Card.Re-boot. (still without internet)Run your motherboard chipset drivers one last time like above.Power down, reconnect internet, power up, and test. You should see a difference.

As stated, you definitely do NOT want two audio cards running in the same system. In regards to earlier post (Rex I think), I have the same A8N-SLI Premium motherboard rev1.02 running the same BIOS with AMD FX57 processor and not having any issues. Be sure to have AA NOT selected in FS9.1 and set AA via nVidia control panel. Are you sure you have loaded the "GeForce and TNT2" drivers for WinXP and NOT the "GeForce Go 7800 GTX" drives for WinXp? I saw someone mention the 81.94 version -- these are ONLY for GeForce Go (mobile) series NOT for the standard 7800 GTX desktop card.Rob.

I'm at work right now as stated above, but I think I do have the wrong drivers loaded. Will test out. I think I loaded the 2nd set of drivers that had Geforce GO 7800GTX.

Yes remove those drivers (81.94) completely. Also, to remove other possible variables, disable your 2nd monitor until you get this sorted out.Best of luck, Rob.
