    Hi everyone.Iam having a horrid time correctly setting up dx10 in fsx.I have followed almost every step in the how-to-do doc. to set up dx10,however whenever i click on free flight,fsx crashes.However if i change back to dx9 it works fine. I would really love to be part of the dx10 club and i do hope that somene can help me. Thanks Clinton.

    Hi I've tried reading around this forum and I've downloaded the "How-To Doc" and quickly read through it. I just have a couple of questions. What does DX10 add? What's performance like? I think I saw it should be better then DX9 right? Any other tips I should know before diving in? Thanks everyone Lee

I really enjoy flying with dx10, but Ive two remaining issues. 1. Some textures are grey at night mostly at aerosoft addon airports. 2. The aircraft lights (addon) 1. Ive searched for a solution but couldnt figure it out if it is going to be an issue forever or it can be fixed? Because I do fly a lot at dawn and or night. 2. I use shockwave 3d redux lights on the ngx and other aircrafts. I know they are working but I just see them for a sec. when turning around the aircraft, then they disseapeer, dont know why. …

    Hello, below is very simple way to enable High Quality sparse grid supersampling antialiasing for nvidia cards. This actually uses an acknowledged bug in nvidia drivers that causes transparency AA setting to apply to whole scene, not only transparent textures. More story here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1250100/nvidia-sparse-grid-supersampling But it effectively allows us to achieve the same image quality as through usual combined MSAA/SSAA settings in DX9.     morning everybody, I took the leap of faith here and installed the DX10 mod. So far without major problems and crisp textures... great I thought... But just now I discovered that my airbus from wilco cannot load. I get the usual app crash and this points me in the direction of "A319IAE_feelthere.dll. Is there anybody that has experienced the same problem? Is it DX10? Or do I have to look in another direction to solve it?     Hallo I have had always Problems with vsync and tearing. Perhaps you remember, I have had posted a solution here with the D3DOverrider. I have found an other solution that works on my system. It is so simple, that I first dont believe it. Just add in the fsx.cfg: [Main] DisablePreload=1 than the tearing was gone on my system. give it a try, and please tell me whether it woks on your system too. many greetings from Hamburg, Germany Leonhardt

    So busy checking which 3rd party airports worked or not at night that I hadn't noticed that the normal default runway lights don.t seem to exist. close up there is something there but it is almost invisible. I have checked through all the threads but don't see it mentioned. Have I missed something? Well have now installed shockwave lights de luxe which has fixed the runway lights but now have blocky aircraft lights. Win some, lose some. Next? Mike

    Big thanks out to you Paul (and others who have done the testing and put it all togeather) for your pinned DX10 "How To" and required files in an easy to follow step by step guide. I am another happy DX10 convert, with all that works working. The biggest change for me is to have all sliders right, with only minimal texture lag, but only in very heavy built up areas, with detailed aircraft (PMDG) not a problem though, as I mostly fly low and slow with Orbx. The only issue I have with 10 over 9, is slightly better AA with 9. Far outweighed by smoooooooooooth @ a constant 30FPS Specs for those interested......... [email protected] 6gig ram @1854 mhz…

    Need some help here. I have followed all the advice in the doc. In dx10 with pmdg ngx i get steady 30 fps in all outside views and about 20-22 in VC. Dx9 I get locked 30 fps everywhere even with better aa set. All my other a/c are faster than the ngx so that is why I use it for testing. There is something specifically slowing it down as even if I pull all the sliders back to mins I still can't. Get 30 fps in the VC. Dave

    To Paul J and everyone that helped me on the Nvidea Inspector, It paid off. I still have some tweaking but I might just be getting closer. I opened up my drop box and made my first video for some time now. This one is a full DX10. Take a look and make a comment pro or con. Pro's make me smile! Cons make me stronger! The video was shot flying the New Waco YMF5 HD. This is a fun plane to fly but is a little hairy on take off if you don't have rudder pedals. When landing keep your speed @ 120kn until just about touch down, watch the IAS as I'm landing. It is a heavy plane.   14. So far my experience of DX10 has been very favourable, have followed the tips etc, and before switching I was having quite a few problems of flashing scenery tiles and severe spiking. Running a core 2 duo 3.6/gtx 560 ti/8gb RAM I had thought that a bit unexpected but to my delight on DX10 that problem seems to have disappeared. However the anticipated increase in FPS has not come with it, in actual fact it has dropped a bit. Am still reading all the tweaks for DX10 but if anybody any comments to make I am all ears. Having said the frames have dropped eg Klax 14 FPS I do believe it is a smoother flying experience and apart from the odd building glitch all appears OK. Mike

    HI I decided to post it here as oppose to video card forum as i followed the how-to-dx10 from here. I am wondering why nvidia insector setting seem to have no effect on Fsx in my set up? Atleast it seems like they dont smetimes i wonder if i am running in dx10 :-) , but i have to be its checked in dx-preview and i had to install shaders as originally they would flicker, so it seems its all good. ok to mention everything works good for me, but i cant help but feel i might bemissing on something here... i do have AA can see clearly that it works exct in Welcome screen with indiana jones theme well almost :-) in this screen the aircraft does not have any AA very juggy b…

    I know lights have been discussed here but not, I think, about AI aircraft lights at night.. So this is an observation really. In FSX the AI lights work differently to FS9 as they don't appear until after the AC is on the taxiway (if I remember In FS9 lights were turned on 10 minutes before departure time) but they do all show up in DX9 ie: Logo lights, beacon, strobes, cabin lights etc. DX 10 seems to have a problem with this in that those lights don't show until some distance from the observer, in some cases it seems to be the angle at which you observe the aircraft. Sit at one end of a runway and watch the AI aircraft take off; no lights show until it's about to rotate…

    This is odd, I've installed DX10 mod without a problem but I'm now left out with a cockpit and tower view only when pressing 'S' on the keyboard to change views. I can access spot and wing views by right clicking the mouse on the screen and choosing desired view. Any ideas?

  22. Good news gents. Been in contact with Devinci who put out KSANX and he has confirmed that his scenery is now DX10 ready to go. He stated he wanted to test some more this weekend, and its Sunday so hopefully we will have an update very soon. This airport is the only airport in my very large library, scenery made by everybody, that AddonC would crash on. So one of my favs will be flyable again. Yay. Blue skies and GO CARDS Brett.

    Sorry if this problem is solved already. I am using my laptop where is Geforce GT 630M and Intel HD 3000 cards. FSX shows that geforce is active. But when i tick DX10 and restart fsx, there is HD 3000 active and i cant change that... Any ideas why? I reinstalled all new drivers and i used that patch and new shaders but no help

  24. Hi there, after checking various airports I recognized still flickering taxiways and apron by day and night, e.g. San Diego (FSX default) and Eugene (ORBX PNW). Only DX10 previev: flickering runways, taxiways, apron....as awaited and known DX10+shader V3.1.: Runway ok, but the flickering from taxiways and apron still remains. in FSX antialiasing and anisotropic filtering ticked. Also included in the fsx.cfg are the tweaking proposols acc. to the how-to doc recommendations. I do not use Nvidia inspector, as the calibration factors can be set in the orig. Nvidia menu (driver 306.23). Any help or advise appriciated. Wulf
