  1. Reggio Calabria Airport (REG), or Aeroporto dello Stretto (Tito Minniti Airport), is famous for its highly scenic but challenging, pilot-intensive approach through the Strait of Messina. Due to the surrounding high mountains of the Aspromonte massif and strong winds from the Strait of Messina, the landing approach is considered one of the most technically difficult in Europe. Pilots require special training and qualifications to land there. The runway (often RWY 33) requires significant piloting skill due to local winds and complex terrain. Making. Pilots must navigate an offset localizer, demanding a sharp, last-minute 45 degree turn on to final. Known as a gat…

  2. Lawrence Sperry (1892 - 1923), son of the famous inventor of the gyroscope, was an accomplished pilot who amazingly invented the 1st autopilot, artificial horizon, turn coordinator, safe parachute, sports aircraft, amphibious aircraft, drone, & lots more. He tragically died in an aircraft crash at age 31. Come learn more about him. Hope you like. Cheers.

  4. Nadi (NFFN), an airport in Fiji is categorized by MSFS 2024 as a famous airport in their precision landing challenges. It is ranked as one of the top 10 most scenic airports in the world, famous for the breathtaking views of Nadi Bay and the Mountain of the Sleeping Giant during takeoff and landing. Nadi is the regional hub of the Pacific, serving as a major transit point for fellow island nations, connecting the South Pacific to global hubs in North America, Asia, and Oceania. This airport was originally built as a military airfield for the Royal New Zealand Air Force in 1939, when it became a vital strategic base for the U.S. Army and Navy during World War II …

  5. Wellington International Airport (NZWN) in New Zealand is globally recognized as one of the windiest and most challenging airports for pilots, frequently featuring in lists of the world's most turbulent airports. Located in the Cook Strait, it experiences intense wind funneling, significant turbulence, and sudden, severe gusts due to surrounding mountainous terrain. I was happy to cross this one off of the flight sim must try list.

  6. Hi Everybody, Additional adjustments to my night lighting edits for X-Plane 12 are partially done. As Laminar Research makes changes to their base program, I make changes to adjust for any differences I don't like at night. These are my Orange & Yellow (sodium lights). I'm in the process of adjusting the newer Whitish (LED) type lighting, once they are finished I'll get the entire package uploaded.

  7. Jorge Chavez, a Peruvian Frenchman, was the first person to fly over the European Alps. He crossed the Simplon Pass from Switzerland to Italy in a primitive Bleriot aircraft in 1910. Unfortunately, while landing in Italy, he crashed & died a few days later. Come learn about his flight, & enjoy real-live footage of a Bleriot aircraft at the end. Hope you like. Cheers.

  8. St. Jerome Airport serves the city of Split in Croatia. It is located on the Kastela Bay, in the town of Kastela. The approach to Kastela is scenic as you come in over tbe Adriatic Sea with a beautiful view of the Dalmatian Coast. MSFS 2024 landing challenges are helping me with geography.

  9. Amazing emergency landing on a heavily trafficked road near my house. Amazingly skilled 19 year old pilot. WATCH: Small plane makes emergency landing on Indiantown Road in Jupiter https://share.google/v7cGvPKIfCABJqVR7

  11. MSFS 2024 is in a sense virtual tourism. I am always excited to see the new city and country that the MSFS 2024 precision landing challenge will serve up. This challenge takes place at Hachijo-jima, a volcanic subtropical island, south of Tokyo in the Philippine Sea. I am trying to learn how to do airliner VFR & hand flying, because I don't like spending time setting up the FMC for an ILS approach. Freestyling is my word for this lazy flying. Will the passengers survive the landing?

  12. Flew the HondaJet from Palm Springs to Cabo San Lucas. I think these 2 hour flights are the sweet spot for GA and the HJ covers a lot of ground in this time. My favorite GA aircraft was the TBM 930 but a VLJ is next level. I was going to buy the Citation X but I don't want to do 4 hour flights. I love that cold and dark to start up is Honda Civic easy in the HJ.

  13. Patagonia is an ancient, beautiful area covering the southern part of South America. Like so much of the world, it has been fought over & divided, & its indigenous people, who have been there from before 10,000 BC, have been largely decimated. But at least its natural beauty & value is now recognised through a series of Biodiversity Reserves, National Parks, & UNESCO World Heritage Areas. It was first flown over & studied from the air by German Gunther Pluschow in 1928/29. Come see his story. Hope you enjoy.

  14. Gibraltar (LXGB) is one of the most thrilling airports to land at but also one of the scariest for pilots. Its 6,000-foot runway being sandwiched between the 1,400-foot Rock of Gibraltar and the sea, causing severe turbulence and wind shear. Pilots face steep, non-straight approaches, intense crosswinds, and a short, sea-surrounded landing strip that requires highly trained, specialized crews. The MSFS 2024 landing challenge subjects you to strong winds that really throw the A320 around. My passengers were screaming and crying and clapped loudly with cheers of happiness when we landed.
