Aviation and Flight Sim Video Forum

Have a real world or simulator video that you would like to show to the community?  Here is the place you can do so.  Please, no links to monetized content on other sites e.g. YouTube, Rumble, etc.  "Monetized" means you or someone else is being paid for views and/or the video solicits people to subscribe to a channel where the content provider(s) is/are being paid for views.  See the pinned topic at top of forum for additional guidance.  Videos must be embedded in your topic.  We want to be able to just click the start video arrow.

I videotaped this glider ride using a Sony 8MM camera, 8MM was the best video quality one could get back in the mid 80's, which replaced the bulkier VHS systems and used an FM soundtrack for enhanced stereo sound. It's a long video, it gets interesting about 12 minutes into the flight, but no spoilers here, to me though it is the epitome of the feeling I get every time I read the classic Richard Bach story, Jonathan Livingston Seagull. It also debunks the old Ford Commercials, quieter than a glider, because any glider soaring at 60-70 KIAS is as loud as the "Queen of the Skies", the 747 and the "King of the Skies", the A380...

This was a real flight I went on in 1987. It was a complimentary flight since me and my hotel staff worked with the owner of the company that invited me on the flight. It was filmed with a Sony 8MM Handycam (which is why it is grainy, but it was the highest resolution camera available at that time). I then transferred it to my PC video archive via Sony Handycam and when I lost my last computer due to a hardware failure, I restored the video from my USB HD backup drive.

Youtube Journey's "Lights" song if you want good music to go with this video, although recorded it in the daytime. This forum is my fav place to chill out if I've had a hard day.

I have this crazy idea in my head about having a vr headset and a virtual environment-cockpit to fly these things...... Also: Jeez this thing is Yuge! Even as an uninvolved viewer I think I would cry real tears if it crashed.

One form of aviation is stunt aviation, however the opportunity for the feelings and sensations of stunt aviation are hard to come by.... I have only been upside down in an aircraft once, and the pilot who did it for me did something quite illegal, over Napa he was flying a friend and I since we helped him prep an aircraft he was reconditioning for flight, a Cessna 182. At approx the intersection of highway 29 and first street, 1000 feet above Embassy Suites as it was known back then, in the 80's, he said "Here we go" and he performed a perfect, weightless zero g roll. I loved it, a former good friend of mine hated it and even though he was a non pilot he read the…
