  1. Ridiculous that it's been 6 months without resolution for this.
  2. Sad to read that developers are already wrapping up development for MSFS 2020. Especially when 2024 is still a piece of junk.
  3. This is all a result of the new bing maps imagery unfortunately. They look worse than the previous aerials via web browser too.
  4. It’s a complete joke. I can’t understand how the sim got here. And no acknowledgement from Asobo/MS.
  5. Just stay on 2020. There’s no requirement or need to upgrade. You won’t ever be forced off 2020 and on to 2024. Enjoy the aircraft and airports you have on 2020 for the foreseeable future. MS need to convince you to upgrade which they clearly have not done. So decide with your wallet.
  6. They’re probably doing it to simplify the backend infrastructure. If you take a look at that link I posted, it’s been updated with all the implications this change will have on 2020.
  7. No, it's something for everyone to worry about because if SU16 is rolled out in it's current state MSFS 2020 will have drastically reduced texture quality from aerial imagery. It's due to this regression that the high LOD option in MET no longer works. See the following thread and links: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/msfs-su16-aggregation-of-complaints-about-poor-lod-low-resolution-blurry-terrain-textures/731741
  8. Have set up the below thread of aggregated complaints about this problem. Jump in and upvote if this issue concerns you. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/msfs-su16-aggregation-of-complaints-about-poor-lod-low-resolution-blurry-terrain-textures/731741
  9. No and it’s my most hated thing about MSFS
  10. Everything they do is always so shady. Sweeping things under the rug, quietly regressing quality, things locked down and controlled. I don't think it's Asobo's decision but more so the aggresive demands by MS. That's sadly what happens in corporate level software development these days. Everything is focused around revenue targets and sales, and not developing the best possible product. X-Plane may in the future become the dominant sim for PC users given their focus being more on the quality of product than sales. I hope that eventually 2020 will reach EOL and will just carry along as being a good stable simulator without constant updates/regressions and rather just maintenance.
  11. 100% this. The default aerial imagery looks worse than the default urban texture tiles of FSX. We are going backwards, it’s complete idiocy.
  12. Don't think it's related, it has something to do with the terrain LOD system.
  13. The guy who made the maps enhancement mod confirmed that the 512x512 tiles which are able to be pushed into MSFS SU15 can't be loaded into MSFS SU16. That's why the high LOD feature no longer works. So Asobo did do something which has prevented this from working. Such a shame really, the high LOD setting looked absolutely outstanding at all altitudes. I would even pay a subscription to have that level of detail working as it just looked that good. Sigh. https://github.com/derekhe/msfs2020-map-enhancement/issues/863
  14. But you mentioned that default map quality now appears at a level between SU15 and Map Enhancement High LOD. Or are you saying the improved DEM gives the illusion of the maps being high LOD?
  15. Well that's positive to hear. Do you find that using Map Enhancement texture resolution (without the high LOD) looks less clear/sharp than default on SU16?
  16. The latest update of Map Enhancement removes the high LOD setting as it’s apparently no longer compatible with SU16. How devastating, the high LOD feature is incredible. Can anyone comment if the maps actually look better quality in SU16 Beta in general compared to the previous?
  17. I concur. I like the Fenix more. But it's still a good plane.
  18. Same can be said with the live air traffic liveries which were in all the promotion videos. A lot of the features promoted don't actually exist as advertised sadly.
  19. I wonder why there's no wing flex
  20. Good scenery however I hate the way the green centre taxiway lights look. They balloon/blur up in the distance and look worse than even default ones and 99% of other sceneries (even other FT ones).
  21. This is a widespread issue affecting both MSFS 2020 and 2024 since Windows 11 24H2. Not sure if the developors have ack'd it but it's affecting many. I noticed improvement after enabling SMT in the BIOS.
  22. I have this exact issue with MSFS 2020 + Windows 11 24H2.
  23. I was noticing stutters and glitches lately but turns out it was being caused by Map Enhancement. Uninstalled it and all smooth sailing again.
