Flightsimcon 2016...any news on Austin Meyer's speech?
Tom, I recently took the F4 Phantom on a spin when testing some scenery and realized how great of a model it (still) is. Good job! Probably helps that I really like the Phantom too

X-Plane noob - first questions
What's disappointing about the 767 to you? Have you tried the IXEG 737 Classic? Unless that qualifies as "old" plane for you I would not base your purchase choice on one single opinion. Have a look at this series of very in-depth reviews of it by FlightSim481: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpqM_XqugLOhosSDoZddW-qHRrnMsErJa Keep in mind that he is rather nitpicky for these videos. His other reviews are also highly recommended.

Alabeo DA42
It would be nice to see the 430 functionality expanded upon and its internals made accessible to developers. Who knows, maybe we'll even see a G1000 in Planemaker one day 100% agreed!

Alabeo DA42
The G1000 doesn't really appeal to me without procedures either but not sure if "boycotting" is a fair term here. Procedures are a massive undertaking for any developer. I'm sure they'll get there (and update most of the previous releases as they have before). That said, *this* particular G1000 rendition runs a LOT better than the previous ones. Very promising! I'm sure they'll get there.

X-Plane 10 Scenery_Packs.ini Correct Order ?
Looks like you're making good progress. Props to you for sticking with it. - You have compress textures checked and VRAM is very clearly not the issue. - Skymaxx doesn't care about the cloud puff setting. It has its own settings. (Also make sure you update this to the new 3.2) - Extended DSFs load tiles further out, but can be performance hogs that use a lot of RAM. 16 should be okay, but I am not sure. Maybe have an eye on RAM usage when/if fps drop again. 64-bit means X-Plane will take and devour what it can get - Your "stuff to draw" settings are pretty high. A lot of objects, lots of traffic, very high world detail coupled with global shadows on medium will definitely present a challenge to most rigs.

X-Plane 10 Scenery_Packs.ini Correct Order ?
I know I'm starting to sound like a shady insurance dealer, but I really can't recommend xOrganizer enough for a case like this (it's free in case you hadn't realized). It will remove any headache the whole scenery ini management can cause with a few minutes of initial work. A sudden fps drop like that is often the case when you hit your VRAM limits. Your card definitely has enough of that, but just to be sure.. could you give us a screenshot of your rendering settings?

SkyMaxx 3.2 is out....
Looks like I was not the only one to see that xEnviro is back on the table after such a long time of silence. Fingers crossed!

X-Plane 10 Scenery_Packs.ini Correct Order ?
Not sure about the fps issue but something else is wrong: world-models should be down with the libraries, and I see EGNT-tdg is down with the libs. I suggest swapping both.

X-Plane 10 Scenery_Packs.ini Correct Order ?
First of all, I suggest reading through this very helpful article: http://asn-xp.aerosoft.com/?page_id=9708 That article should give you a good basic knowledge of how scenery and the order thereof works in X-Plane. It's quite simple once you get the basics. Next, thanks to community member Mattijs, there's no need to mess with the ini file. He made the absolutely wonderful xOrganizer tool for us to use: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/31085-xorganizer-windows/ It changes the ini nightmare to a simple drag and drop procedure. I suggest clicking "show help" after installing it to see how it works and what it can do. At first, you'll have to sort some scenery it has trouble identifying into the appropriate folder inside of xOrganizer. If you end up deciding that it's not for you, it also lets you revert to your previous ini file easily. However, I am sure that you will not regret it. As for your actual current question, as others have said, the photo should be at the bottom of your list. You will also want to put the lower 5 airports above the treelines and England buildings.

Great free-/donationware for PAWG Wrangell by R Design
I saw on his site that he was involved with JustSims' new X-Plane sceneries and decided to buy those.

I'm looking for a GPS + Moving map for X-Plane. Not an Ipad app
I don't think you'll find anything comparable at this time. As for a moving map, have a look at EFASS. It's a moving map/EFB. It's freemium and doesn't hurt to try. It's also currently being rebuilt as EFASS NG with lessons learned from the first version.

PMDG DC-6 Release info
They said earlier on it was an issue with too many click spots bogging down performance.

[24MAY16] PMDG DC-6 Cloudmaster for X-Plane Update and Release Info!
Definitely! Made me look over the list of realism options. What exactly do the damage alerts do? Do they alert you once damage has been done or do they warn you if you're about to damage something?
-
Attention ! No system depth ...
Thanks, they look like good fun. But what about TCAS?

[24MAY16] PMDG DC-6 Cloudmaster for X-Plane Update and Release Info!
A little tongue in cheek here but since visual rain/icing effects were not provided/mentioned anywhere.. I take it they are not modeled? (I do see that carb icing is modeled. Great!)

First impressions of X-Plane.... not great
Sorry about your thread, OP. Unfortunately happens with a title like that. Do let us know if you've tried again this weekend and need any other pointers.

SimCoders Reality Expansion Pack for Carenado V35 released
Cheers Claudio! I am really not at all interested in the V-tail Bonanza, but the fact that you keep providing update after update free of charge may just make me pick up this REP too. Really look forward to the B58 though. If you are looking for more twin ideas in the long run, the C404 Titan is the best Alabeo/Carenado twin I know and also uses the IO-520 engines (albeit the M variant as far as I know) that would hopefully make it fairly easy to implement!

First impressions of X-Plane.... not great
Always interesting to see/hear what converts end up liking or disliking. Most of these seem to be usability factors like the camera system or framerates. Surprisingly, I don't read about a lot of people having issues with the UI after they have used X-Plane for a little while (not saying it doesn't need improvement).

Departing FSX, Arriving X-Plane
Vaughan, I'm not sure you realize how many millions of people use Steam on a daily basis. The outages a *very* few and far between. If you are having trouble to connect this often, that's definitely an issue with your internet connection. If it's stable/good enough to download an app as big as X-Plane 10, I wonder how it's possible to lose connection as much as you seem to do. If you haven't had it for more than two weeks and used it for less than a total of two hours, Steam does offer refunds.

First impressions of X-Plane.... not great
FOV can be adjusted in the rendering settings (lower middle area of the window). Most people seem pretty happy with a setting of 85. As for the stock aircraft, they are stock aircraft after all. If the controls are too touchy, you can adjust them in the respective settings menu and see which setting is to your liking. In general, aircraft will feel less on rails than what you may be used to. As for the educated attempt/decision, you will only know once you've actively used it for a good while. If you are trying to replicate the exact same experience that you have in P3D, you will not be able to. A different sim is, after all, different. Is there something about P3D that drove you to give X-Plane a try? Or are you just curious?

Blu Sky Star CRJ200 CF34 Sound Pack released
Thanks for the info. Sounds good, but it takes the overall price for the aircraft to 70 bucks. A little steep, me thinks.

New VFlyteAir Cherokee 140's
Quite the review and love letter to this aircraft! I own vFlyte's Arrow and it's nice to see they have progressed quite a bit. Good to see them start implementing custom code and little quirks like the flap trick. I am not super interested at flying around at the 140's low speed a whole lot, but definitely willing to support them in their development. I think I initially put it off as yet-another-GA-aircraft but you may have sold me on this one. The Original version does look a heck of a lot better than the Classic one. Not sure if the pricing will do them any favors. I can see where they're coming from and it keeps the individual model rather affordable, but seeing close to the same aircraft released for almost the same price at the same time will surely put a sour taste in some people's mouths.

SimCoders Reality Expansion Pack for Carenado V35 released
I'm sure they'll tackle more twins once the B58 is out. See this post: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/103895-xp-needs-rep-for-the-turboprops/&do=findComment&comment=1027124
