I agree, this looks like a major step forward in data storage.  Faster access, less energy consumption, reduced heat generation, all this means better battery life and for data centers, they could be much more economical.

Also water consumption.  As I understand it, data centers consume huge quantities of water in order to dissipate the generated heat.
