  3. I went to the Avsim convention in 2004 in Denver where we were able to use United Airlines’ simulators. It was fun putting faces to names from the forums. We were also the first non-aviation-professional group to use the simulators post-9/11; the United Airlines employees commented how they enjoyed all our smiling faces and also enjoyed showing the simulators off as normally simulator users aren’t using them for fun. It was also around this time I used to do repaints as well, so I do have nostalgia for then.

  6. That's something I'm hearing mentioned a lot lately. So I checked out what that is: Definition of Vibe Coding Vibe coding is a modern software development practice that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to generate code based on natural language prompts. This approach allows users, including those without extensive programming knowledge, to create applications by simply describing their ideas in plain language. Key Features AI Assistance Natural Language Prompts: Users provide high-level descriptions of what they want to build, and AI tools generate the corresponding code. Rapid Prototyping: This method enables quick creation of working applications, making it ideal for testing ideas and iterating on designs. Accessibility Democratization of Coding: Vibe coding lowers the barrier to entry for software development, allowing non-technical individuals to participate in app creation. Focus on Creativity: Users can concentrate on the creative aspects of development rather than getting bogged down by technical details. Limitations and Concerns Code Quality and Maintainability Potential Issues: Relying heavily on AI-generated code can lead to problems with code quality, maintainability, and security vulnerabilities if the output is not thoroughly reviewed. Lack of Understanding: Developers may use AI-generated code without fully understanding its functionality, which can result in undetected bugs and errors. Professional Use Suitability for Prototyping: While vibe coding is effective for rapid development and experimentation, it may not be suitable for production-level software where a deep understanding of the code is essential. Conclusion Vibe coding represents a significant shift in how software is developed, emphasizing speed and creativity. However, it is crucial for users to balance this approach with careful review and understanding of the generated code to ensure quality and security. Until I looked this up, whenever i heard "Vibe coding", I couldn't help but think it was something from the 60s:
  7. That giant bat in the beginning looked like he turned into a Mouseketeer: I can imagine the early viewers at that time freaked out watching this film.
  8. Yeah, I think they do that on purpose to keep the viewing audience wondering if they’ll see them do a faceplant. Been that way since Christians vs Lions.
  9. Did you ever serve as a ball dude?
  10. When did I ever say I hated exclamation marks? I mentioned them because you use a lot of them. Look how many of them just in this thread alone. And with the situation in the Strait of Hormuz being what it is, I suggested an alternative source of them if you were running low. Oh, well. A good deed never goes unpunished. 🙁

  15. “911, what is your emergency?” ”Yeah, there’s some creepy old guy in sunglasses going around the park without any pants on. He’s heading for the playground where there’s a lot of kids around. Please hurry before this pervert gets there!”
  16. Search Assist Aliens are often described as erasing the memories of their abductees, which is a common feature in many reported alien abduction cases. This phenomenon is linked to the experience of "missing time," where individuals cannot recall events that occurred during their encounter. Medium Memory Erasure in Alien Abductions Overview of Memory Erasure Aliens are frequently reported to erase the memories of individuals they abduct. This phenomenon is a significant aspect of many alien abduction accounts and is often associated with the experience of "missing time." During these encounters, individuals may find themselves unable to recall events that transpired while they were with the aliens. Common Features of Memory Erasure Missing Time: Many abductees report a period during which they cannot account for their whereabouts or activities. This is often described as a lapse in memory. Psychological Symptoms: Individuals may experience anxiety, insomnia, and other psychological effects after their encounters, which can be linked to the trauma of the abduction. Hypnosis Recall: Some abductees undergo hypnosis to recover memories of their experiences. This method often reveals details about the abduction that were previously inaccessible. Notable Cases Case Name Description Betty and Barney Hill Reported missing time during their 1961 abduction, unable to recall two hours. Travis Walton Experienced five days of missing time after being abducted in 1975. Allagash Waterway Abduction Four men reported missing time and shared hallucinations during their encounter. Conclusion The concept of memory erasure in alien abductions remains a topic of fascination and investigation. It highlights the complex psychological and physiological effects that these experiences can have on individuals.
