I would think the following would be true: He is sitting in a roundish chamber and the whole things tilts up or down during acceleration and deceleration. Totally different than the chamber in which he is sitting. It's all relative. In your house, your motion moves relative to the room, controllers, and monitor as your chair moves. But it's not like that in his chamber where it all moves right along with him in his chair? In his setup everything moves as one reference frame, so the motion cues feel natural. At home it’s always a bit of a trick on the senses since the chair moves but the world around it doesn’t.
