July 30, 2025Jul 30 I have the TCA Throttle Quadrant Airbus edition with the addons (flaps and spoiler modules). It has been working fine but decided to recalibrate it (had not done so for some time). When I execute the calibration procedure exactly as specified in the first 55 seconds of the link below, the calibration works for the throttles but not for the spoilers and flaps. After the calibration, when I move the spoiler or flaps handle to the first detent, it behaves as if I moved it to the full position, i.e., I am unable to move either arm to an intermediate detent. I confirm this behavior by running joy.cpl and then the Properties tab. Both spoiler and flaps arms feel fine and I can also sense the detents. I also installed the latest drivers but it did not help. Has anyone had this problem before ? Any direction is appreciated. zachlog
July 30, 2025Jul 30 I don't have the unit, so I cannot guarantee my comments. The behavior of the flap and spoiler levers indicates a non-calibrated status. This device's "invisible" calibration routine( you move the levers and press the buttons without being able to see in the game controller window if the axis color is actually moving during the calibration) makes troubleshooting more difficult. Have you tried calibrating this unit through windows only? Again, I build throttles and know a lot about non calibrated behavior. Your levers do not appear to have "accepted" the calibration routine.
July 30, 2025Jul 30 In joy.cpl, you should have an option in the properties dialog to reset the calibration to default. July 30, 2025Jul 30 Author Well, today I learned, actually reminded, that what one finds on the internet is not necessarily true or correct. The video that I posted is correct for calibrating the throttles, dead wrong for calibrating the spoilers and flaps. I should have gone to the TCA Support site for the correct instructions, I did not and I paid the price.....2+ hours of fiddling around instead of under 1 minute. The correct method for calibrating spoilers and flaps is in the document below. In summary, the calibration for BOTH spoilers and flaps is set simultaneously in a single procedure by moving the gear lever UP then DOWN at each spoiler detent position. The calibration starts with the gear lever in the DOWN position). This procedure takes care of both spoilers and flaps. The manual link is below. Thank you both for your responses. https://ts.thrustmaster.com/download/accessories/Manuals/TCA_Quadrant/TCA_Quadrant-Throttle-addons_Calibration.pdf zachlog
