AIG traffic and 2024?

Featured Replies

Does the AIG AI stuff work with 2024? Can't see anything explicit on the AIG website and if I start it up under 2024 it starts ok, reports loads of aircraft around me but sitting above KSFO I can see lots of static stuff on the ground with nothing moving, and nothing in the air.

I have it running ok in 2020, but nothing happening in 2024.

Not looking for any kind of realism (real time schedules or such like), just be nice to see other stuff in the air occasionally.

Apologies if this turns out to be a "doh!" moment.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Did you do the AI Manager install for 2024?

I couldn't see anything on the AIG site, so no, I haven't done anything other than start up both packagages and let them update themselves (although the AI Manager didn't seem to do so). Do you have any kind of link, or do I just rerun the original installer, assuming I can find it on my system?

Found my original install directory and working my way through it now. Even found the manual!

Thanks for you response @Dave_YVR, it nudged me in the right direction (as in I needed to do a new install)

Thanks. Getting late here so I'll probably play with this tomorrow now.

I've been using it for about 4 months - works great! Occasionally get an aircraft doing circles on the taxiway at major airports but that's a small sacrifice to have realistic AI aircraft following real world  flightplans.

That is from the AI engine of the sim as well as poor taxiway/runway links. Both of which are thanks to Asobo's lack of QC.

As already suggest by Dave, make sure to run AI Manager regular to get latest content updates (I suggest once a week). If you use AIGTC to inject the traffic, we have sadly the limitations of the internal AI System. But if you have any other ATC addon like FSHud (that can use AIG flightplans as well) or BATC you can use the installed airplanes of AIG with those injectors.

Hi @Kaiii3, thanks for that. I was having problems doing that copy process as per your site (I possibly made a hash of things trying to update my system before I found the original files) so I'm installing / downloading a fresh setup via OCI bulk install. No biggie.

I do have a question, as I can't test this out until OCI has finished. I'm not looking for any kind of ultimate realism, in the sense of correct AI flights by exactly the correct aircraft into the correct destinations etc, I really just want to see a bit of life around any airports I happen to be near on my low n'slow excursions. This is what I was using it for in 2020, will I still get this in 2024 once I've finished the install? It certainly worked wonders before - lovely stuff, thank you.

Content is the same for both version, so you will get the same results in both Simulators.
