Horizon Simulations 787-10?

Featured Replies

I remember a few years ago Horizon had mentioned that the 787-10 was going to get the same treatment as its 787-9.  Not long after they published some early screen shots of the project on the fsnews.eu website.

It was supposedly not far from release but interestingly that release did not happen.  Is it still in the works or is it abandonware now?

The Kuro and Horizon 787 is nice improvement over default.  Not exactly study level but I have fun with them occasionally.  The 787-10 seems sort of left behind as mentioned in the article above.

Obviously a nice and new study level 787 would be nice but its likely year(s) away.  So an updated 787-10 would fill the gap until that time comes.

They are still working on it, but judging by the speed (or lack thereof) I think it's more a case of "few developers with few spare time". Also the native 787-10 in MSFS2024 is apparently broken, so they'd have to use 2020's 787-10... which is kind of stupid.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Not so sure about that but this I do know.  The Horizon leverages the old WT SB import and W&B of the 2020 787-10.  The 2024 787 does not.  It instead uses the EFB.  That is the same issue for all of them797 variants out there, Kuru, Horizon and Bravo.

Over a year ago it felt like they had completely made a pivot to developing liveries. I stopped following their Discord news channel because every update was just another few paints for the Fenix - I don't know the last time I saw a substantive update on the 787, it's been a really long time.

Isn't to say there is no more work to do. The WT framework still feels "unalive" and the integrations etc. all feel "last gen" now.
