I am interested in this script, where can I find it?
(given my "weak" pc I would like to use it to limit the frame to 30 fps and not more)

It's own work and generally unsuited as a framerate limiter (i.e. limit FPS to a maximum).

  • Just to add to this topic, I bought and installed XP12 about 2 weeks ago.  Long time simmer (Sublogic FS days) and only tried XP a couple times as I mostly used MS versions and P3D once that came out.

Start clean. Do some flights. Than when you have it where you want. Backup the xplane folder. Than start adding addons.

XP12 has vastly improved this past few weeks, I’m impressed to be honest. I am a long time simmer to, since FS98…. I havent flown FS2020/24 for about 3 weeks now and I’m not missing it either, I have

Excellent example! Just the point I was trying to make.

What's your "Rendering distance" setting in X-Plane in these shots? "Max" or "High"?

It's set to max.

Satisfy Boeing 737-800 curiosity with study level freeware Zibo 737!  There are also other variant available from LevelUP -600 -700 -800 -900.

For occasional GA itch freeware "X-Plane King Air C90B EVO, G1000 Blackhawk"

The Zibo 737 which is free is pretty amazing for free. It comes with quite a few liveries too.

I'm no expert but I'm very curious why Toliss is ahead of FSlabs ? I have received some feedback from real pilots and they have always told me that FSlabs is the best simulation of an a32x the one they released for 2020 they say it is a gem.

I just bought the Toliss A321XLR and am utterly impressed. Toliss software just got certified for an FTD4 simulator:

How much storage do you need to get some decent scenery in XP12 in the USA area. and the cost?

XP Map enhancement tool costs very little and give the same worldwide satellite imagery as MSFS.  In needs some initial downloads, but not a large amount of disk space.

I just installed streaming maps for free. It makes XP12 look almost as good as MSFS 2020. You get to pick a free map streamimg service. Bing, Apple, Google, etc. I also installed SimHeaven for free which models buildings. I am pretty impressed. I flew 2020 for a comparison. With all the addons. XP12 still boots in about 10 seconds.

I am never flying 2020 again. 2024 for me is such a superior experience.

But it's a lot lower resolution, unless you buy the streaming higher res one.  In that case I still find XP map enhancement to be lower res than 2020 or 2024.  If you only fly airliners XPME is plenty but for GA, being down low, the resolution is pretty poor imo.  I still love the app and use it for my XP12 flights.

Nothing beats a home made tile though - but the storage space get's a little silly.

I wish someone would come up with a hi res streaming solution.

I get what you’re saying. XPME isn’t quite on the level of MSFS 2020/2024 when it comes to low-level detail, especially for GA flying down at treetop height. But I’ve found that from 2500ft and higher, both the terrain directly below and off in the distance actually look very sharp—definitely good enough to stay immersive.

For airliner flying, it's more than enough, and for GA, I still get a satisfying sense of realism once I’m not hugging the ground. Like you, I really enjoy the app and use it all the time in XP12.  That said, for my GA flying, I’ve gone ahead and downloaded ortho tiles for the UK at level 18. It’s a huge improvement in clarity and really brings the landscape to life, but of course the storage needs ramp up quickly. Still, for my local flying, it’s been worth it.

Yes, I agree. One last thing would be XP fixing some of the aliasing issues (shimmering/whatever you call it). I know they are working on this. Once that’s done .. it will be amazing to have both and fly both sims depending on the day and mood.
