How to autorun Lossless Scaling?

Featured Replies

I already have Lossless Scaling launched whenever I run my Windows desktop.  Additionally, is there a way to automatically run the latest version of Lossless Scaling each time MSFS 2020 is launched so that I don't have to press the shortcut key or press the "Scale" button?  In other words, it just runs in the background without any intervention from the user ie. in an out-of-sight out-of-mind kind of a way.

Yes, just create a new profile in LSFG and edit that accordingly.

I'm sorry but I don't understand. How does creating and naming a new profile automatically run Lossless Scaling? I currently use MSFS 2020 to run only ONE plane PMDG's 737.

There's nothing in the program's setting to auto-run it.  Is there a command line parameter to run it automatically ie. without having to press the Ctrl+Alt=S hotkey or press the 'Scale' button?

I downloaded and ran this 10 year-old program (last updated in 2015). Unless I'm missing something, I think it loads Lossless Scaling in memory but it does not activate it. You still have to press a hotkey.

There's mention of using Add-on Linker in the URL link above. I tried Add'on Linker as described in the link above but I couldn't get it to launch AND automatically activate Lossless Scaling.  I hope I'm wrong, and that it's just my error, and Splat or Add-on Linker can in fact load AND activate Lossless Scaling automatically.

Those are not the settings for your PMDG profile. Click the Edit button at the bottom of the profile column to edit the profile.

Edit what exactly?

Pressing the 3 dots shows one option: "Remove"

If you are trying to have LSS Auto-Scale don't forget to add the Path & EXE for the app (in that Filters w/Browse Button sectioin). I am not sure if PMDG actually uses an EXE file for their aircraft so you would probably need to scale MSFS instead.

I have P3D and with SimStarterNG I can launch other executables via that utility. Either before or after P3D is ready.

That app isn’t available for MSFS but there’s a feature in FSUIPC for launching executables. It’s a very useful utility and reasonably priced. I would suggest that’s your best bet.

As for turning it on that still requires human intervention in pressing the keyboard combo. Dead easy! 😉

This will run the version you have installed. For new versions you still need to login to Steam and download it yourself.

In the box 'filters' you have to enter the path to an *.exe (with the 'browse' button) which you want LS to autoscale , THEN hit edit. Works on countless applications flawlessly here. See the docs or watch

Yup, it's easy. But I want it even easier! 🙂  No human intervention involved.

Courtesy of replies to this post, I found out that Addon Linker does what I think you described using FSUIPC...for free. <g>

Read the post right above yours, it’s explained there!

But FSUIPC does an awful lot more. One of the most popular addons ever for flight sim.
