Just updated Active Sky this morning, now no weather

Featured Replies

Just ran latest update to AS, and now no weather. Had to go back to MSFS Live weather.

What version are you using now?

I'm now in sim heaven thanks to MSFS 2024 and hundreds of add-ons!

Hm have been using the latest version for a week now without problem. Try a uninstall reinstall? Also make sure the injector gets installed (happens when you start ActiveSky the first time after updating, do this *before* starting the sim)

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I've been using the latest beta without issues, but I always do a clean install.

I correct myself: I did not have the lastest version, only the beta. Have installed the official release from today (?) now, will make a quick check if it works. Wait a couple of minutes

That's why I asked because I had no idea that a new "stable" version was released. Let us know if it works for you.

Alright works fine even with the latest official update. @Bobsk8

Latest version working and the clouds look even better now. Maybe because weather from kmia to kbkv is cloudy. Looks good!

Well I took the cowards way out, went to my backup drive with macrium, and copied the before update version, and now I am up and running.

Well against my better judgment, I decided to update to the latest version. Now I have weather, but it reset some of my settingsn and now it won't load  the current flightplan, which it has always done, and I have load flight plan selected. I was afraid to run this update when I first saw it was compatible with 2024, and I suspect that there is the problem.  Been at this all morning, and it still isn't right.

Seems OK to me. Started 2020 three times this morning then quit as had work to do.

1st start then AS said new version available so quit the sim to install it

2nd start after install got all way to menu then big AS warning screen came up YOU MUST RESTART SIM IF RUNNING TO APPLY PORT CHANGES ETC.

3rd start finally got to actual flight but then was plagued with GPU issues, appearing and disappearing every 5 seconds making it impossible to start the Fokker.

Snow in Wales looked nice though!

OK, I finally got everything working. The word not allowed update, reset all my settings, and it also deleted my Simbrief and aircraft settings ( PMDG). I got everything set again, and after 2 hours,  it is working. I will never update this program again.  😡

I hear ya. I reckon it's been working well for ages but certain squeaky wheels want something updated (new sim maybe?) so now and then a new release comes along.

If it ain't broke add more features until it is!

Exactly. The last three updates I ran, one of the PMDG 777, AS, and one other program, all caused issues that were not there before the update.

I updated my Active Sky this morning.  I usually do it every time they update without issue and the process is pretty easy.  I set up a flight in FS2020 taking off from ANC heading to NRT in the PMDG 777F.  Active Sky appears to be working as far as wind, barometric pressure, visibility and clouds but for some reason its saying its 15C outside and its much colder there at the moment.

Its either an error in the data which sometimes happens or maybe its an incorrect reading in the PMDG 777F?

I am not really worried about it unless it happens more often!

One thing I forgot about, if you have more than one PMDG aircraft like the 737 and the 777, you have to specify in Active skt which one to send the weather data to. PMDG has a separate folder for each airtcraft type, and AS will only send it to one of them. That is in General Options, PMDG export path..  Sometimes I forget to switch, and I am usually flying either the 737 or 777. Ridiculous system that PMDG has, rather than one WX folder for all PMDG aircraft.
