7.8.5 issues with lights (FIXED Aug 3)

Featured Replies

I can confirm that the flickering lights are fixed - thank you, Nico! I can also confirm that the AIG models seem to be improved by Lights utility that I listed up above.

  • You are right, it is done, and thanks for your donation.  I have rolled back internally to 7.7.0 and indeed no flickering over there. When comparing the two sources I found the cause. A SimConnec

  • Yes, this would be the most scientific approach to test a theory whether it's PSXT to blame. 7.8.3 was the last stable (regarding AI lights) version.

  • Then don't, but I think it's time to turn down the temperature a bit on this topic. Nico has given us PSXT for free, and I understand the cost of RT - I am in the middle of a 12 Mo. sub for the pro ve

The link leads to nowhere...

It's a Discord link. So, unless you're on their Discord server, it won't work. Here is a link to the executable that I uploaded so that I can share. I have used it many, many times, but since I did not create the file, use at your own risk.

Direct quote from the Discord discussion - essentially it fixes your systems.cfg to add legacy parameters which bring back and brighten lights at dark. Note that this does not fix NAV lights at destination airports. You will still experience NAV lights turning off as soon as aircraft touch the ground that are not at your origin airport (where the cutscene loads). This is a MSFS bug that's been around since SU13(ish?)

I have tried this small tool to make changes to all systems.cfg and AI lights are working great for me: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lnn4k773IPAvH44hckHMfAfAezGTdnzT/view

Here is the discussion forum about this problem:

PS: Thank you so much Nico for the lights fix - works like a charm!

The issue with the lights (the subject of this thread), was constant flickering of the lights. That has been fixed.

Whether your aircraft have lights at night depends on your AI aircraft

It is an issue outside PSXT.

Certainly 7.8.8 has not caused that, the only difference was to change an array size from 2K to 4K.
