Airports' DB as of 06/08/24

Featured Replies

Nico,

As the DB has been updated, KIAH and other airports affected by recent RT changes still show outdated qf. KIAH, for instance, still has 4/46, while in fact there is a lot of action now in the airport.

The update is about week 22:  May 26  till June 2,  so just partly with new data providers.

FYI:

PSXT week 20: 6806 airport files, average Qf:12/38, 529 files with real only
PSXT week 22: 7808 airport files, average Qf:10/36, 1662 files with real only

That the average is a little lower is  probably caused by the fact that there are 1000 more files in the archive.
However, as you can see quite an improvement,  approx 1100 more files with sufficient real traffic data for an airport (no soft options).

When do you think KIAH and others would be available too?

This is a great boost, and assuming this is partial on new data, hopefully we'll see even better data once Week 23 posts. Thank you for the update!

Curious if you're able to determine the average QF of the same 6806 airports between week 20 and [22 | 23]; you'll get a better aligned comparison that way.

Just released week 23:

PSXT week 23: 7953 airport files, average Qf: 9/36, 2040 files with real only

Ok,

Looks like KIAH, ESSA, ENGM, RJAA and others still have qf attributed to 06/08/24 database. No changes reflected on 06/12 update

You mean week 23 compared to week 22; using week numbers is more clear.

However a lot (2040-1662)  of airports have improved!

That was not my question.

ESSA, KIAH, RJAA have improved as well, but not their qf. KIAH is rocking, but it's qf is about 14 (!!!). Hence, files for the static planes have not changed. How this is possible?

I don't know. I never fly there.  Could it be that it is rocking but that the aircraft not always reach the gate?  The soft score is not too bad taking into account that KIAH has about 230 parking positions.

I'm watching ESSA right now and I have 8 live parking for a short period of time. The most recent qf for ESSA is   3/27. Very weird.

UPD: 11 live updates for ESSA for 30 minutes. Something is wrong with qf reading. KIAH will be tested next.

UPD2 - 10 live updates for KIAH for 15 min.

Are you not happy with all that traffic? 😉

But no kidding, it is strange indeed. Will look into it.

Thanks for the heads up.

Thank you for looking into this as I too was expecting an improvement in the qf values after the RT update, but I am not seeing this at the airports I regularly visit.

I'm totally happy with the traffic and if the solution would not be found, I will utilizing good-old method of learning-while-flying and use fft value from 3 to 8 for arrival airport depending of duration of a flight. The real issue here is that with false/incorrect qf we cannot have proper files for static real positions.

My guess is that data from these new channels that RT recently added, cannot be captured by your software that you use to generate qf values.

I found the bug. Will generate new archive later today.
