January 12, 20242 yr Yes, it's a strange question, but I have to ask it: is it there a way to improve the default offline ground textures and autogen? I was thinking about something similar to Orbx Global+Buildings for FSX and P3D, so that I could enjoy MSFS while my connection is down. As of now, FS8 looks better... ------ Background (you may skip it if you wish): my internet service has been failing in my neighborhood since last weekend, with no solution from my ISP. The only thing they have done is to give me 50 GB of mobile data every 3 days so that I could use my computer with that. They also gave me a discount for the days I've been offline. But phone signal in my apartment is bad, and my phone warms up too much after just 20 minutes of flying MSFS. I could switch ISPs, but they would need to install all the wiring for the whole building, and they won't do that for a single customer. January 12, 20242 yr For this, xplane or p3d are better. With xplane I've been flying 100% offline for a while now with more than acceptable graphics, it's great for me when I'm away from home or on days when the mfs servers or my provider have problems. Edited January 12, 20242 yr by Aglos77
January 12, 20242 yr Feel you so much - I used msfs using my phone as hotspot for a couple of months. Sadly there are no mods for offline MSFS. The only thing I can think of is buyng a USB router and then inserting your SIM card in it. Or for that matter getting a data-only SIM with said USB router.

Have you tried using the manual cache or increase the rolling cache? This would store online data for offline use IIRC, but you probably are limited to fly in a specific region. January 12, 20242 yr You could manual cache the area you want to fly in whilst you still have a connection. Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
January 12, 20242 yr There is this cache function in msfs which I luckily never had to use but maybe that helps? Though you have to go through a download once and then you should also fly (only) in that area to benefit from the cached data EDIT should’ve used less letters, now orchestra and cian beat me 😉 Edited January 12, 20242 yr by DAD Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
January 13, 20242 yr Author Thank you all for your quick replies. Except for using other sims, all would work as soon as I get back online. Sadly I'm still offline, and won't be able to fly MSFS for another two weeks (because I'm going on holidays). I'll have a very tough conversation with my ISP at my return...
