Better looking scenery not always better

Featured Replies

I purchased Aerodesigns KPWM scenery because I fly there a lot and not many options. It's a complete frame rate killer, almost slide show. What good is add-on scenery that looks great but kills your frames to the point of having to lower your settings to use it? To compare I have KBOS from Flytampa and KDCA from ORBX, much bigger airports, with no noticeable impact to performance. Disappointing will have to uninstall PWM.

It is indeed frustrating how some developers focus 100% on visual quality and don't even acknowledge how meaningless those high quality visuals are if performance is wrecked due to poor or no optimization.

The trouble is that a lot of people buy based on screen shots without reading reviews. If you're targeting that kind of consumer, you have no incentive to make the scenery framerate friendly.
