September 2, 20232 yr I already have low FPS in some places in Europe, but AO doesn't seem to make it any worse. The AO looks great in Europe, just as in NA. I have not loaded any other continents due to drive space issues. I have been getting crashes lately that seem to match what many others have had - XP telling you it cant run with that z_ao_x scenery installed. I tried another data source and saw it was not AO's fault, it was missing tile data. I have used EOX in the past for European flights, but lately XP12 has been crashing due to missing tiles. Switch to BI and all is well. I guess it depends on the location. I'm in France currently and crashes happen with EOX.
September 2, 20232 yr + Heaven help me. So I had autoortho running perfectly. I downloaded this version and launched and it said that there were updated data. I had EUR and NA loaded in my sim. I let it run to update and quite frankly it didn't seem to do anything. Ran XP12 and now I have errors. I totally uninstalled and reinstalled the whole dang program twice, loading and removed the .autoortho-data folder to let it rebuild. I start up AO and it goes through the vacinations of downloading the base files, and then is says its installing them, BUT IT DOESN'T. I have spend some ungodly amount of hours trying to get this blasted thing reinstalled and working and no matter what I do I get errors. I have no idea what to do. September 19, 20232 yr @Humpty You need to move your global airports (and all other airports) up to the top before any other scenery. The stack should look like this: Airports Scenery Libraries - can be anywhere really y - any ortho overlays z - any ortho Mesh XP loads the scenery from bottom of the file to the top. Since your Global Airports come early in the sequence, they are covered up by other scenery. Also, y comes before z. Edited September 19, 20232 yr by dolph98

September 20, 20232 yr Yeah. That's the latest AO that does that - I am using v0.5.1-3 after much testing. This version does not have that problem. Has to do with code that replaces bad tiles with repeated tiles. This version also uses the same folder structure as v0.6.x but you have to watch your .ini if you open XP without the server running. That's the one thing that was nice with v0.6.x.

Will AutoOrtho overwrite them with lower resolution data ? Or select to dislpay the higher resolution that is already there ? What do you mean by pre generate tiles ?
