Would one be able to use XOrg to launch XP with appropriate VR settings?

I don't have X-organizer but doubt it can do that. but you are not alone, people would like to have quick one-button-click access to multiple pre-configured graphics settings. instead of the user having to experiment with the preferences (X-Plane.prf) or (settings.txt) files, it would be a piece of cake for Laminar to implement such a simple feature. probably too easy.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

I bet it can 🙂 That's part of what XOrg does.  I just don't know if one can use it with VR settings. I can't think why it wouldn't. It's not quite one click, as you have to set it up first,  but it's pretty much as good as...

Conveniently, less than an hour ago, I wrote, on another forum, this post: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/261657-saving-display-offsets/&do=findComment&comment=2496123

FWIW, @turbomax I have XP11, XP12 and also FS2020. Setting multi-monitor and quality settings is considerably easier in XP (with XOrg) that it is in FS2020. There is, I think, a program similar to XOrg for FS2020, but I don't know what it's called.

All IMO, of course.

please report back when/if it works, I might get Xorganizer.

Eh? As I said, my eyes point in different directions so I will not be getting any VR stuff. XOrg is only €15 ish - try it!

if Xorganizer can select between multiple config files and make the selected one the active one, then yes that sounds possible. just save the different config files under different names and let Xorg rename/choose the right one before starting xplane. still more complicated than in MSFS, where you can have a VR and a 2D setting and then forget about it. the corresponding config will be activated as soon as you hit Ctrl-TAB to activate VR mode.

X-Plane preferences

With the preferences module you can store X-Plane preferences and ‘swap‘ them to the X-Plane folder when starting a flight. This way you can easily switch, for instance between a VR and normal setup.
Some people also use this function to store a clean set of preference files -> once in a while they ‘refresh’ the preferences in the X-Plane folder.

I like the look of that! I do have a couple of Logitech devices. I've been thinking about SpadNext, buying switches, lights and knobs and building my own panel. Next life, p'raps.Gotta improve my soldering.

I do actually have Spad.Next but haven't paid for it yet. Next week, eh?

I've been thinking about SpadNext,

I used the free xsaitek panels plugin from Sparker, haven't tried it yet with x-plane 12.

I have had XP12 for about a week - bit more. Most XP11 stuff seems to work well on XP12.

Aircraft, not so.
