July 18, 20223 yr I'm new with FSX. Trying to land in Hong Kong Intl., 25 left, with 747. Hong Kong airport officil data informs ILS 108.90, direction 253, but my plane always deviate to the right, quite off the runway. I tried with King Air and the same occurred... Any help here, besides telling me how to find an ILS localizer number and runway direction, please. I'm new, but 81 years old... Thank you.
July 18, 20223 yr Administrators Welcome to the AVSIM forums! 😀 Are you flying the default 747 or a freeware/payware version? At a couple of miles before touchdown, you should be shutting down the A/P and hand flying the landing. Bringing up the Map option is the best for checking on the ILS freq. You can always pause the Sim while looking at it. Charlie Aron AVSIM Board of Directors-ADMIN/Moderator-Registrar Awaiting the new Microsoft Flight Sim and the purchase of a new system. July 18, 20223 yr Author Thank you, Charlie. I'll look at the mao, quite easy. However, when disconnecting the AP in certain airplanes, it goes upward immediatelly (King Air, for example). Why is that? Thank's a lot.
July 18, 20223 yr Administrators Perhaps your flight joystick or whatever you are using is not calibrated? Charlie Aron AVSIM Board of Directors-ADMIN/Moderator-Registrar Awaiting the new Microsoft Flight Sim and the purchase of a new system. Running a Chromebook for now!
July 20, 20223 yr Author I'm simply using the keyboard. Most small airplanes behave like that. I have to push down like crazy for them to align again...
July 20, 20223 yr Administrators OK, not much you can do when using the keyboard. I would suggest a joystick like the Logitech Extreme 3d pro. Probably about $40 at Amazon.
