October 4, 20214 yr Hey thank you for doing this, it can certainly help some users. I had in mind since day 1 to do a proper manual for the tool but, almost 1 year later, i still haven't found the courage to start working on it 🙊😁😇. Appreciated ❤️
October 4, 20214 yr Very useful thank you. I have downloaded Linker but not got around to installing and setting it up. October 4, 20214 yr Installed Addon Linker, created a file structure, moved all my files from the community folder into the Linker_Community folder and I get this - any ideas? October 4, 20214 yr @MrBitstFlyer, sorry for the trouble, please click on the 'Detail' button and send me the content of what's written there. Please send it to me by private message or it will just destroy this thread structure because the message will be very long. Hopefully you have tested first with a single addon first to make sure everything was ok before moving too much stuff and then find out it doesn't (i put some warnings about this everywhere i could, mains addon page, readme inside the zip, , because if you have the ms-store version and put stuff in the real community folder first and then move it elsewhere, sometimes it just doesn't work because the files are encrypted and don't work anymore if moved around (thanks microsoft) 🙈, it's unfortunately not something i can fix, probably your issue is not related to this, hopefully the detailed error message will help) In your screenshot we can't see, do the addons show correctly in your 'left panel', i mean the title, version and other data, are they correctly shown in their respective columns ? Let me know, thank you 🍺 1 hour ago, Flying-Hare said: Can't find the location of the msfs.exe file (store vers.)🙄 @Flying-Hare You don't have to find the EXE, those MS-Store version are a bit special and i'm not sure it will work by launching the EXE directly. In the options screen just select 'MS-Store/DVD' and you will be fine because it will launch the standard command for those type of 'store-apps'. Note : This option is just used to launch the sim from the tool via the little blue arrow at the top, it's not mandatory. Edited October 4, 20214 yr by Bad_T

November 17, 20214 yr In the left panel I have moved some columns but the program don't save the positions, when I restart the program they are as before. How I can save my layout? thanks
November 17, 20214 yr @Flavio1 there is an option in the right click menu of the left panel 'Save columns order/size'. If you use that, the columns will be restored to the same position as when you saved them. 🍻
November 19, 20214 yr I was asked if the Addon-Linker works with products purchased through the MSFS Marketplace, or just with other outside addons? I think the answer is YES, but I only have ourtside addons right now, so would like someone with Marketplace experience to confirm. Thx. Edited November 19, 20214 yr by ark
November 19, 20214 yr Hello @ark it's possible but it's a bit more advanced, i only recommend that to people who really understand how the tool works at 100%. In the options screen, there is an advanced tab where you can specify a folder that will be used to put your 'official addons'. When you put them there, the link will be created in your official (or onestore) folder when you activate it. So the sim will see it as if it was there (just like for the community folder). Obviously, if the link is not active and you go into the 'content manager', the sim will ask you you to redownload the addon because it won't see it. There is a little example here --> https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/586454-another-tool-to-organize-your-msfs-addons-easily/?do=findComment&comment=4445883 on the next page (28) at the top, you can see a screenshot by @Denwagg showing his bought addons managed this way. Now very important, if you want to go this way, try first with a single addon to make sure it works for you and you understand fully how it works. For some people with the MS-Store version, moving files outside of their community/official renders sometimes the files unreadable (there is a little workaround for that too but it's another topic) so please, four your own peace of mind 😇, don't move 200gb to then find out it doesn't work otherwise you won't be happy 😜 Let me know if you need more help 🍻 Edited November 19, 20214 yr by Bad_T

July 28, 20223 yr I just stumbled upon this thread looking for some info. While I'm here I'll add the solution to what I was looking for, in case it may help someone 🙂 I've started using ReShade with MSFS. In order for ReShade to "inject" correctly, MSFS has to be started via a .bat file. Now, it is possible to have Addon Linker start MSFS from the .bat, by selecting it in the Addon Linker settings. In order to do this, choose a customized location and point to the .bat file. This way it's possible to use the fast start option with Addon Linker, as well as some custom settings on startup in the .ini file. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
