The anonymity of the internet has given people licence to say things and behave in ways they would never do in real life. I am guilty as charged in this respect.  My worry is that the internet is now, in reality, real life.

(PS Anyone who claims to actually understand string theory is definitely a troll!😀)

The problem with the internet now, is that it is starting to spill in to real life. I do not believe there is a solution.

I'm banned again from the Org for posting on the MSFS thread in favour of MSFS. Still, I lasted for eight whole days! 😂😂 I think they may be getting soft. Apparently I'm a troll.😀

I'm pretty sure this one was just for disagreeing with a mod's brain fart.

That lot see themselves as king of the castle, telling them their poop stinks as bad as the rest of us is beheading behaviour.

Really for the best to just stick them on ignore just in case they say something so stupid (which they seem to do a lot) that you cant resist the urge to invite a ban for pointing out the level of their incorrectness.

(last time voidhawk did that to me I did an @everyone with a screenshots of the message he banned me for (saying I didnt think xp12 wouldnt be this year) and reason he gave (apparently that estimate made me "anti xplane") on discord - circa 2000 notifications on peoples mobiles - he got quite upset at the percentage of them who PM'd him to say their piece - we laughed a lot)

I will never ever place anyone on an ignore list. Cancel culture is the curse of our age. It used to be called cowardice. Mere words can never do me, or any one else,  any actual harm.

Generally I wouldnt recommend ignore.

But when they behave like that its never worth hitting the quote button for anything other than massaging their massive egos, simply because everyone loses if you do.

It wont protect you that much, because lots of people who hate flight sim and dont want to see it get better take great pleasure hitting the report button on anyone they want to silence for the tiniest sign of a rule infarction.

But its much safer than forcing them to prove how big and important they are.

I do not need protection. And I won't lose any sleep over it either. Except to say that free speech is a precious thing which we should not lightly throw away. No matter how irritating we may find those with apposing views.

you were doing such a good job of showing how much they really troll. from brett posting his troll pic through to voidhawk confirming everything you said.

It is a mistake to get caught up in their baiting, they had nothing of value to add, and they contributed nothing but personal insults, everyone can see so for themselves.

The best way to negotiate that nonsense is simply to ignore it, put your point of view out there with no reference to the attempts to trigger you into breaking the rules the same way they do with almost every post, pretty soon they'll get so desperate for support and attention they'll self destruct all on their own. Nothing makes a big ego angrier than not considering their pov worthy of a reply especially when they have fallen so far they need to make it personal.

Especially on the MSFS forum the crowd is so diverse and from different walks of life and knowledge, it is like talking string theory in a Kindergarten class
