Some people don't know what they like or want until an app like this actually exists. And yeah seriously.

captain420 - I agree.

I get that, given the software that exists today, we’ve all come up with different solutions to the same problem - that is, needing to run multiple apps to plan and execute a flight from start to finish.

Some of these solutions are decent (or even pretty good). But that doesn’t mean they couldn’t be better (i.e. consolidated, streamlined, integrated, etc).

IRL, we often have some sort of device in the cockpit (e.g. iPad), loaded with various apps. In MSFS, we can also use a real iPad (or laptop), but it’s not inside the cockpit, which for some people, reduces immersion.

Is that a dealbreaker for me? No, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like a solution like Avitab (but even better - assuming it didn’t have a big impact on performance).

And for VR, it’s much more of a dealbreaker when flying IFR. Having to take my headset off to access charts, etc on another device is disappointing.

I can certainly keep using what I’ve been using and enjoy flying, but if someone came up with a good solution, I’d try it in a second.

Yes but then using a physical laptop or tablet, you can't enjoy the scenery while flying because you have to constantly take your eyes off and look back and forth which gets tiring. Which is the point of having these features on screen.

Hmmm... in real life you’d have to look inside the plane and down onto the tablet, don’t you?

Even all in a single screen, you can’t focus on both, can you?

You’re  either looking at the map on SkyPark or looking out the windows, looking out the windows or inside at the instruments, not both simultaneously, right?

Yes but you can just quickly glance at both rather than having to completely turn away from the screen. It's much different.

Because that’s too difficult? 😜

I get it, it’d be nice to have an all-in-one EFB, but must it be on screen?

If some one put out an app that did all you wanted to do but it only ran on a tablet would you not use it?

Plus, my tablet is on a stand right below my main screen almost like it’s on the screen, it’s just not a problem.

I think you’re looking for a problem to implement a solution...

You guys are missing the point!

No, we understand you want an all in one solution which doesn't exist so you'll have to use what is available. You don't need to run lnm plus aivlasoft egg and simtoolkitpro, because they do the exact same thing. One should be enough

All it takes is a glance every now and then man lol

Heck, even while In cruise with autopilot on there might be nothing to do and it whiles away the time setting up for the approach!

You left out Tik Tok.

We've been conditioned by addon developers that we need to run 456 apps next to our flight sim.

I did a short IFR flight today, and even turned off Rex Weather Force. The only addon I had running in the background was FSMapTool.

It got me this: Maybe I'm just not a serious simmer, shrug....

Exactly!

The sim offers so much out of the box.

Having your expectations in check greatly adds to your enjoyment of it.

Nick pic and even the Sistine Chapel shows it’s flaws!

Speaking of screenshots, I'm looking forward to that flight recorder mod that was suggested last week.
