February 6th-ish, 2020 – Development Update

The Xbox Series X will have an octa-core Zen 2 CPU, which has been confirmed by Microsoft, and you have no idea how much RAM it will have, what GPU it will have, and how much performance the RTX 3070 will pack. I sincerely doubt you know anything more on those matters than the general public does.

Those will not be the minimum requirements for the game. Users with 8GB and 16GB of RAM have been invited to the Alpha. A developer said that it runs fine on a GTX 1060 at 1080p. And at no point was it said that it will be exclusive to the newest Xbox. It is being brought to the Xbox One family. This is a Microsoft statement.

And no, it was said from the very first development update that it will not be a console game. And it is hardly derivative of Flight Simulator X, considering that most parts have been like totally overhauled or replaced.

And you're wondering why you're getting hate.

I'm sure he knew all this before you pointed out the facts, he's just on another fishing trip, looking for bites.

He evidently has the right bait. Although I’m not entirely certain that he doesn’t truly believe what he’s saying. I feel like ms flight really upset him and like a scorned lover he just can’t accept anything Microsoft shows or says any more.

I have the feeling he does believe what he says, but if he really is trolling by fabricating facts on purpose, he should be banned already.

Please note, the "fine" refers to the size of the windows

Agreed! The window scale is correct in that screenshot you posted.

You can ignore any member by right clicking on their name and choosing ignore in the drop down.

Sometimes I think some people enjoy poking the pit bull as much as he enjoys chewing on your leg.

He hasn't done anything so far that violates our TOS. Ticking people off isn't a banning offence.

Chill out and ignore him. If you don't respond to his posts, he'll will probably quiet down. The ball's in your court.

Thank you.

No matter how often you and other admins / moderators repeat this, it doesn't make more sense. As has already been said (for example in the topic that was completely removed) it only works if everyone ignores him, which is unrealistic. It only takes a random single user who takes the bait to derail any thread. We cannot - and don't want to - also ignore any random user lacking a stoic serenity.

Maybe have another look at your own Terms of Use:

Quote

» Behavior and Your Actions: AVSIM’s goal is to provide an educational and entertainment resource for people with similar interests and a community that is fun to be part of by users from around the world. Your acts and words on AVSIM will not, in any way, infringe upon others enjoyment of the AVSIM site. Any acts of bigotry, profanity, or disregard for what is reasonably considered to be social “norms” will result in suspension or banning entirely. Keep in mind that AVSIM is a multinational and multicultural site, and "norms" vary from country to country. What may be acceptable in your culture / country, may not be acceptable in others. If in doubt, contact AVSIM staff BEFORE you post anything that could be offensive elsewhere. This clause also includes and refers to any material or language that AVSIM Staff consider to be inflammatory and intended to do no more than elicit controversy and division.

As you will probably delete this post again, this is my final word on this topic.

So is Airport Discovery this Thursday or maybe a new Road Map when it will be possibly? I thought they said they are still working on getting it ready to show us this month?

Well said. I'm with you here. Again, as in that thread that magically disappeared. Oh well, I guess the mods see things differently.

No matter what I'm looking forward to the next update by Asobo and the thread that will accompany it ☺️

Cheers, Bert

Not yet, this Thursday they will release the date for Airport Discovery Series. Also a lot of things they have delayed until this Thursday. And probably a new date for a new alpha wave.

So I hope next week for Airport Discovery Episode.

He is not just ticking people off, he's posting total misinformation that could deceive those who do not know better, and turn people away from the simulator for no reason. His "facts" are fabricated like "minimum requirements will be 32-core Zen 2 CPU, 32GB RAM and an RTX 3070" or "Microsoft Flight Simulator is a console game and they are paying YouTubers to promote it" or "the new simulator is based on the Crew 2 engine" or "there will be definitely not be proper add-ons or plug-ins without issues for several years". In several instances he is presented with actual facts (that you can easily look up for), then decides to ignore them after a while and start over.

As RALF9636 pointed out, the Terms of Use clearly state that AVSIM is an educational resource, and that trolling is prohibited. If such misinformation is allowed to be posted over and over again, you might want to put a "don't respond to posts by mSparks and he'll quiet down" notice at the top of the forum so that users who are looking to find out actual information look elsewhere.

Alright, back to facts now. Next update we are getting a Development Roadmap preview, a Feedback Snapshot with new feedback from the Alpha, and an announcement for the official release date of Episode 6 (Airports). There is also a pending Partnership Series announcement that was supposed to be released on 6 February, with no new date confirmed. All these have been posted at flightsimulator.com by Microsoft/Asobo.

Ok guys. Don't assume we don't know what the problem is. We have taken steps to mitigate. So chill. The only way another member can upset you is if you let them.

Thank you.

If you wanna get a pretty crystal clear idea of what he "really" thinks, this thread on X-Plane.org will help:

https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/193063-microsoft-flight-simulator-2020/

It got locked, due to endless pages of arguing - mostly because of him.  Ironically, towards the end, there's a couple of people laughing about the fact that he had now landed on AVSim, and relief that he could now spread nonsense here instead.

He leaves a path of locked threads lol.

I actually understand the admins / mods point of view. And I appreciate you are not the hipshot kind of mods. A little discourse can be fruitful.

The main problem with "ignoring" is, that some inexperienced users might believe some of the nonsense. So I think, if he is allowed to post it, we are allowed to respond. Which in return leads to endless arguing and name calling.

When there are dozens of cars driving in the wrong direction, maybe it's that one single car that actually drives the wrong way.

Happy with MSFS 🙂

Sorry lads, was late to the party. Having looked through his previous replies it's obvious he's a troll. And yes, absolutely should the moderators deal with individuals who post simply to wind people up.
