Garmin 530 and 1000

Featured Replies

I am an old fart non-pilot with a great love of aviation. I have never had hands on experience with aviation com/nav radios but I am fairly adept with computer systems, both hardware and software. I have, however, found much difficulty in utilizing the xplane garmin 530/1000 for VOR navigation. I simply have not been able to fully understand the operational instructions provided.

Can anyone give me a lead to written and/or video instructions that might be more comprehendable by a layman such as myself.

Thanks,

Dave

Awaiting the new Microsoft Flight Sim and the purchase of a new system.  Running a Chromebook for now!

If you want to fly the best, most realistic garmin 1000 in any flight sim it’s the TBM 900 in Xplane 11. I’ve got rw time for a couple years on this one in a kingair.
Plus, believe it or not the 530 that comes with X-P 11 is very good.
