September 29, 20196 yr I want it released now as was done for FS9 and FSX (they were not as polished as MSFlightSim2020 appears to be). Then Alpha/Beta testing (if required)! I don't care how much Alpha/Beta testing is done, it will still not satisfy some simmers who want total perfection immediately on release. I and many others will be happy with the new sim but some other "experts" will not. Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! September 29, 20196 yr It is highly probable that they internally have a date. I bet it is the E3, early June, but giving it to the public too early would be insane. You have just contradicted your self by pointing the risk of a release date but ask for one, I don't care when next year as long as it`s tested fully before release. Judging by the tech alpha registration survey there does seem to be a lot of prioritisation decisions yet to be made, so I suspect they don't even know what there MVP is let alone give details of a release date, even by quarter. I do think we're still way to early in the process although what we've seen visually does look pretty polished...

My project management experience plus the information we've received so far plus some knowledge of the history of the franchise points to an October 2020 release. Let's hope the sim is ready by then. Yes, an "Early Access" approach would be nice for those who don't make it into the alpha / beta programme. Although I understand that this approach is often used by smaller software houses to help fund development. Something tells me that MS won't have a problem with funding. 😉 Specs: Win10, 4790K, nVidia 1080ti, Saitek Yoke+Quadrant+Radio/Switch and AP panels, VRInsight 737 overhead, Virtual Avionics 737 MCP. 3 x 1440*900 main display + 1024*600 VDU display. September 30, 20196 yr Short summary, - The ai will try to guess building locations and shapes from satellite imagery in places they dont have 3d scans. popular buildings such as train stations in the Netherlands were hard to recognize. The data is also not always actual, they could not see their hotel in Seattle which opened in 2017. Nature looks very impressive. - They could only try out 3 prop planes. - Icing is simulated. - Aircraft are split up in 100ths of measuring points for which take in account wind and environment for the flight simulation. - Cockpits are modelled using 3d scans or CAD files from the aircraft manufacturer. - You can select current local weather conditions, but also use a slider to go back in time (even years back). - They will use a similar flight dynamics system to x-plane. - Rendering is done locally, scenery data is streamed to client and resolution is depended of connection speed. -The Tweakers crew was not very impressed by the feeling of flight, maneuvering in different situations. - You can navigate the world using a globe when planning flights. You can make flight plans and follow checlists. Edited September 30, 20196 yr by jelknab
