Can I config a/c to use G1000 pfd and use G500 GPS?

I like flying the Cessna 172 with the G1000 PFD. I don't care for the MFD map though. Is it possible to keep the PFD but replace the MFD with the G500 GPS?

Probably!  I'll try with mine.  It's a G1000 2D panel only, but should be able to show it.
