February 4, 20179 yr PMDG 777 is higher VAS than the 737. Its far more demanding its seem very odd that you find the NG on your system is higher, very odd. The NG is light on VAS. The 747v2 needs no more than the 777, PMDG tested to death the VAS on it. That is why I wrote two times "on my system!" Maybe your system and 5000 others do behave different, doesn't matter what I see here. You can say all day long that it isn't more demanding when I see and proof here something else. Unfortunately I can't say why, but when other addons have lower VAS in the same situations and with same sceneries then the 747, then I suspect, there's a problem with the 747 probably. I do not blame PMDG or complain, but it is how it is. And we had similar issues after the 777 release. So I do not have doubts that we get fixed whatever the reason is over the time. This is just a report from me. February 4, 20179 yr Yes you did say "on my system" but its does not been that your system is right and the "5000" others are wrong. Then you say you "suspect there's a problem with the 747 probably" based on what? your very strange finding to start with? You sort of answered your own question. I think the problem is your end. Since your finding with the 777 are totally against everyone else finding. I did not say your not getting them finding on your system. Just that there very strange, and far from normal. I would be very surprised if there is any update/hotfix to do with VAS, as they worked so many hours on making sure they got VAS right, problery after they learned from the 777. I hope you can sort the problem out you have with the 747 on your system as the 747v2 is a gem. David Murden. February 4, 20179 yr its does not been that your system is right and the "5000" others are wrong. never had said this! And I do not understand why you take this defending position as I haven't attacked anybody, at least not PMDG. Again: I do not blame PMDG! I just report what happens here on my system compared to other addons. nothing more, nothing less. What PMDG does with this information we will see. February 4, 20179 yr not having any vas problems but my vas is 235 higher then the 777 with the same settings , 777 about 2635 , 747 2870 , same flight . VAS is rock steady . Best regards , Gérard van Veldhoven
February 4, 20179 yr I was never attacking or defending. my first reply to you was only two lines long, all I said and still think is your finding are very odd. I hope you can sort the problem out you have with the 747 on your system as the 747v2 is a gem. I also said this in good spirit. David Murden. February 4, 20179 yr I hope you can sort the problem out you have with the 747 on your system as the 747v2 is a gem. Agree about being a gem, even if a bit FPS demanding (on my system !!! ). Have to find the reason why, or better wait for other's experiences. February 5, 20179 yr I just landed in JFK after a flight from LUX, CLX776. Started with 2950-3000mb in LUX, reached 3450 over Ireland and was just over 3520 when reaching Canada. Over BOS it was 3670 and I reached the Fedex cargo ramp with 3878mb. Fsuipc started to "ring" during taxi. The vas did not go down over the Atlantic at all, if anything it slowly crept up by 50-60mb while over pure water. Something's up as you all say. I'm using the 378.49 (24jan2017) NVIDIA driver. I'll try reverting back to 376.33 and see how it goes. The 747 is using about 400mb more than the 737, which seems right, but the vas does not free up while enroute, something that I observe when flying the NGX. I'll see tomorrow on my way to ATL with the older driver. Regards, Fabrizio Fabrizio Barbierato
February 5, 20179 yr I have driver 378.49 installed, no problems, knok on wood. Edit- I am on my fifth flight, have about 30 % remaining VAS “The Wright Brothers created the single greatest cultural force since the invention of writing. The airplane became the first World Wide Web, bringing people, languages, ideas, and values together.” – Bill Gates
February 5, 20179 yr I rolled back to 376.33. When starting a flight in the exact same conditions as with 378.49, I am using about 200-250mb less! Yesterday in LUX I started with 2990mb, now it is in the low 2700. Amazing  Fabrizio Barbierato
February 5, 20179 yr Flew from WSSS to OMDB and now on the way to EHAM on the same session. Flytampa scenery for OMDB and EHAM VAS hovering around 2.62gb over northwestern Iran, so far so good. I might even continue on my 3rd leg to FSDT JFK on the same session if VAS holds out. February 5, 20179 yr Hi everybody, This is my system spec for FSX : Windows 7 64 bits - GSkill 4 GB RAM - Zotac Geforce GTX 970 (4GB DDR5RAM) I use the same profile setting as shown in this video : No AI traffic program is running, and I test the following scenario : 1 - Launch FSX (VAS = 2 - Load flight from TFFF default scenery with the Aircreation Skypper (VAS = 1.550 MB) 3 - Load the PMDG 747 V3 with BAW texture (VAS = 2.534 MB) 4 - Change location to TFFR Taxi2Gate scenery (VAS = 3.300 MB) 5 - Change location to LFPG Taxi2Gate scenery (have an OOM error before scenery is displayed) Can someone tell me what's wrong ? Alf DAGNON - Flight enthusiast VA France - AF024
February 5, 20179 yr Can someone tell me what's wrong ? You should start a separate thread if you have a specific problem. I recommend you don't change locations. FSX and some P3D configurations do not unload an airport before loading another one. Set up your flight at the airport and time you want..., changing after the load is your problem. Dan Downs KCRP
February 6, 20179 yr Does it mean that when I change a location, it cost me the amount of VAS of the previous scenery plus the VAS of the new one ? If so, it would say that the T2G sceneries cost me at least 700 MB of VAS ? Based on these data, do you think 980 MB of VAS is standard for the PMDG 747, or do I experience VAS leaking ? Alf DAGNON - Flight enthusiast VA France - AF024
February 6, 20179 yr Sorted myself out by installing P3D 3.4.22 update made with NVIDIA Flying Tigers Group
