Automated Weather

How does one switch off the "Automated Weather Observation" that keeps running continually while I fly with FSX?

Are you referring to the Auto Weather update every 15 minutes?  That should be easily adjusted in your FSX/Weather settings.

Hi,

AWOS = Automated Weather Observation/Observing system which is synthesized to voice and played back on specific ATIS/AWOS/ASOS frequencies.  You have an active COM radio tuned to such a frequency within range.  Solution = change COM frequency.

You prop have "both" selected in your radio stack.
