P3D and 2nd monitor

As I said in another thread - P3D is NOT FSX and especially in the fullscreen mode. P3D uses a pseudo fullscreen by just creating a borderless window.

Let's recap -

you have TWO monitors connected to ONE gtx780 - correct?

Before you start P3D you have a desktop showing on BOTH monitors with all your icons on one?

Rename the current prepar3d.cfg file to something else and let P3D build a new one.

Start P3D and load a flight.

Stay out of the prepar3d.cfg file -  go into settings display - uncheck black out desktop and check auto fill.

exit the options and go back to main p3d screen - hit ALT ENTER

Does one monitor still go black?

Did you do the rest I mentioned in the above post? Just a new cfg by itself won't work.

Bummer - well, I'm out of ideas. Perhaps someone else has a suggestion. If you get it resolved - let us know.

Vernon - how do you have the two monitors set up in the Nvidia control panel?

Have you tried reinstalling or updating the driver?

When you are just at the desktop with nothing running - what is showing on the second monitor?

Download the latest driver for your card from Nvidia - select CUSTOM install - unless you specifically need them for specific games, etc - uncheck PhysX, GForce Experience, NVidia Sound drivers and any 3D drivers - just install the Display driver.  Select PERFORM A CLEAN INSTALL.

After it's done, if you have any Nvidia Inspector profiles, you'll have to reset them to default and reapply the settings.

That's the best way to update. Cut all the rubbish out.

Anyone here running P3D with a second small monitor or even any kind?

I had my 2nd monitor setup in FSX working fine i can even go into full screen in FSX without my 2nd monitor going blank basically cutting out

since setting up P3D and going into full screen mode my 2nd monitor now cuts out and goes blank.

What exactly do you mean by going blank?

With FSX in Full Screen mode the second monitor will, of course, go black until you drag a VC view or panel onto it.

Is this how you use FSX?
