June 23, 201411 yr Hey guys! I hope this is the right forum for this...if it isn't please excuse my fault! Just got one simple question: Is it possible to display the actual MACH speed in the red infotext? I'd like to have both IAS/MACH shown together.... Thanks in advance! Tom
June 23, 201411 yr Shift-Z is customized using the TextInfo sections of fsx.cfg as described here: http://www.microsoft.com/Products/Games/FSInsider/freeflight/Pages/CustomizingShift-Z.aspx However I don't see anything in this facility to display airspeed as both Mach and IAS. There is a TextInfo replacement gauge in the library that can probably do what you want: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxpan&DLID=184089 Barry Friedman
June 23, 201411 yr Administrators There is a TextInfo replacement gauge in the library that can probably do what you want: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxpan&DLID=184089 This text gauge will only do IAS or True Airspeed also. No MACH. Charlie Aron AVSIM Board of Directors-ADMIN/Moderator-Registrar Awaiting the new Microsoft Flight Sim and the purchase of a new system. Running a Chromebook for now!
June 23, 201411 yr The TextInfo gauge docs say it can display any FSX variable, eg (A:AIRSPEED MACH, Mach), is that not correct? Barry Friedman
June 23, 201411 yr Administrators Looked through the entire PDF and no mention of MACH speed, only true airspeed and Indicated airspeed. June 24, 201411 yr Looking more closely at the doc, you'd need to modify the XML code of the gauge to get Mach airspeed. The sim variables are here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526981.aspx Looks like a very well written document! Barry Friedman
