RealEngine for FSX/FS2004 - realistic aircraft limitations and failures

Featured Replies

I ran RealEngine in conjunction with the Damage Mod in Brett Henderson's freeware Beech V35. Installation and configuration is not really for the faint of heart, but it can be done. RealEngine did the flight monitoring part and the Damage Mod did the maintenance and wear&tear part.

Both mods were a huge inspiration for MIT*, so I'm very grateful to Gunter and Ismail.

The problem is that you added windows 8, 9, and 10. For your setup they should be 18, 19 and 20.

Ok time to Kick this again, and see if their is still some life in it.

 With the time that has passed. what are your thoughts about the modification and the real engine for the Goose.?

 Their should be some real good feedback by now.

And don't forget the C185 please!

I think the RE documentation contains instructions on how to adapt it to other aircraft. The worst aspect is finding usable and comprehensive reference data.

I Love this, it works nicely, engine fails, spark plugs foul, flaps go bang, I have installed it on the Default Cessna C172 in FSX to test and get it working,

but.. I cannot for the life of me get the engine gauge to show in the VC. Can anyone help me with this please?

Panel.cfg

[Window00]

gauge22=Cessna172!Tachometer,                       347,329, 78, 78
gauge23=Cessna172!Thrust_Controls,                375,425, 81, 55
//gauge24=Cessna182s!Oil_Press_Temp,           62,334, 58, 58
gauge24=realengine_v14\Aircraft\c172 - FS9\panel\beech_baron\Left Engine Temperature Indicator.xml, 62,334, 58, 58
gauge25=Cessna182s!Switches,                        163,440,121, 41

[VCockpit01]

gauge05=Cessna172!Fuel,                                 400,  1,107,107
//gauge06=Cessna182s!Oil_Press_Temp,         405,325,107,107
gauge06=realengine_v14\Aircraft\c172 - FS9\panel\beech_baron\Left Oil Condition Indicator.xml, 405,325,107,107
gauge07=Cessna!OMI_Lights,                           0,456, 44, 24
gauge08=Cessna!Vacuum_Ampermeter,          405,217,107,107

Thanks, Roger

The entry for the Realengine gaues is totally messed up. Look at the entries below them as that's what they're supposed to look like. So in your case:

gauge06=realengine_v14!Left Oil Condition Indicator, 405,325,107,107

Then make sure that the "realengine_v14" folder is either in the aircraft's "panel" or FSX' "Gauges" folder and you should be all set.

Doors anyone know if this works for turbine aircraft like flight1's B200?

No it doesn't, it models only piston engined aircraft.

Ok thank you.

I'm trying to configure the Carenado Cessna T210M to sync the aircraft CHT with the RE CHT as detailed in the RE 1.4 manual. The trouble is I am unable to locate the Carenado T210M CHT gauge in order to modify it. Does anyone know  where this gauge isolated, or if the CHT gauge is somehow integrated into the the panel and therefore not able to to be modified?

Thanks / Les Parson

I think Carenado/Alabeo started integrating gauges into the model with the introduction of their 4096 HD series of aircraft.  I know in the B58 Baron and PA34-200T Seneca II the gauges are called out in the panel cfg file, but in the PA31-310 and PA31-350, they are not.

Sounds interesting

Any aircraft with Accusim does much of the same.

I have RE v1.4 configured for two aircraft (Carenado T210 & F33A). Now on all pages, all options are x-ed out and unable to uncheck/tick to make any parameters operational. I've tried the repair option and done several FSX restarts but the situation remains. Next step is a complete uninstall/reinstall of RE 1.4. Any easier solutions are welcomed.

Thanks / Les Parson
