October 6, 201213 yr Looks like CKAS has a motion platform for sale around the ~5000.00 AUD mark. Perhaps within the next few years this will be within reach for the enthusiast market (I was looking for something around the 2000 mark). In the mean time, I'll be doing some research, and perhaps I can try and construct one when I'm more knowledgable. I'll be planning to put a FDS Jetmax, or MIP onto a motion platform. Is this a feasible idea, and has anyone attempted this for home use? Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
October 7, 201213 yr Author Heres a video of a guy who constructed his own 2DOF, emulating the CKAS design -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAEQv9a81xw Impressive, imaging having one of these in your house! Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
October 7, 201213 yr Wow that's very cool. I believe one company that sells a C172 home sim has an option for a motion platform. I'll try find it today. Lee
October 8, 201213 yr Author If these manufacturers can bring down their price, they would be opening their market to lots of potential new customers. Right now I believe 5000 is just above the enthusiast level. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering

December 8, 201411 yr Just an update: I asked for a quote. The 2D0F platform is now 6000 AUSD plus about another 1K for packing and shipping to UK. So about £3500 total.
