New monitor for NGX

Featured Replies

3 X 19" Dells (Samsung) with GTX460 X 2 for 4075 X 1024 resolution. The wrap around viewing is excellent. Deffinately don't get a TV, watch television/movies on your monitor.

I have the 27" Samsung SA950 as well--I'm more than pleased with its smoothness at its default 1920 x 1080 resolution. This monitor is available at NewEgg or Amazon for $700.Maury Pratt
Hi Maury,What AA are you running in NV Inspector? Thanks, Bruce (also using SA950).

ASEL, Instrument.

3 Monitor SetupI also use 2 Hanns-G 28" Monitors at 1920 x 1200 for the 2 side view screens and then I bought a TLC 40" monitor HD display for the middle screen, Everything looks great don't need IR track, but I still use it with ezdok. Its a great visual experience, Bought Hanns monitors for $269 a piece from Newegg, and bought the 40" TLC TV for $399.00 on Amazon. Thats 96 inches of Visual screen for under $950.00.This is a great Low cost option, been using this setup for almost 1 year no problems thus far... See signature for system specs...

Well i have a BENQ G2420HDBL and if im honest it's ok but i could'nt afford much more at the time i will change her next year though because it's not the best. Always good to keep upgrading u guess

You can use a TV, but the improved resolution offered by a computer monitor of similar size makes a striking difference. I had a 32" LCD TV (1920x1080) side-by-side with one of my 30" Dell U3011 (2560x1600) monitors and there is absolutely no contest w/r/t image quality on the monitor. For some people, that sharpness and fine detail doesn't matter, and for them a TV monitor will work OK.Also, even at smaller screen sizes, the taller screen of a 16:10 format monitor proves quite useful when operating with a VC. The de-facto standard has evolved (devolved?) to 16:9 (specifically 1920x1080) because it coincides with HD TV resolutions. Most consumer-grade monitors are 16:9 now. Dell still markets 16:10 monitors at 19" and above, and there are some others out there still.

I've got a 23" LG W2343T-PF monitor, really nice. When I run the PMDG 744, I can actually see how big a 747 is. I definitely recommend it.

Thanks,
